Will this handguard fit on my M&P 15T

I am looking to get a more slim hand guard on my 15T. In another thread someone posted a link to Leapers and I really like the looks and price of their's. The one I am looking at states it will accomodate a low profile gas block. Not sure if it will work or not.

Really what I am asking is will I have to replace the gas block with a low profile one?

Super! I was not sure if the factory gas block was low profile or not. I am pretty new to the AR platform but have always worked on my shotguns, rifles and pistols so I plan on doing this work too. Lat night I looked at videos of installing and tuning adjustable gas blocks. I wouldn't mind to decrease the recoil. I had thought about buying an adjustable low profile if the factory one wasn't low pro. Thanks for the info.

The 15T is carbine length. The hand guard I'm looking at is 13" and would be considered longer than carbine but it is free floating. Shouldn't a free floating hand guard fit over the low pro gas block and work fine even if it longer than carbine length?

The 15T has a low profile gas block with a 10" free float quad rail... It will work fine to put a handguard that is 3" longer on it if you would like.

I think Plazzman was trying to say that any free float handguard longer than carbine length would cover it and require a low profile gas block...

Gotcha. I was confused as if he was referring to length of the gas system on the gun or the handguard length. Thanks for the info!

Just make sure that slim handguard will fit over the 15Ts low pro block. Some of the low pro blocks are a little more bulky than others and if that handguard is really slim......I’d check diameters on the hand guard to insure it will slide over the stock block.
