New Competition for the Shield

DAO.... no thanks.Got enough of them.
SIG may be calling it DAO, but according to the article, it is a Striker-Fire system. I can't think of any Striker-Fire triggers that are True DAO.

Some consider the Shield DAO too (simply because people figure a Semi-Auto is either SA, or DAO... That there's Nothing in-between).

Like everything else that's hit the market in the last few years, I'll wait to pass judgement until I've actually had a chance to shoot one myself.

Looks like a trigger similar to a LCP no thanks

It's definitely not a hammer fired gun. But even if it is I have no preference other than reliability. After that I'll look at the trigger pull/feel but still don't care if it's hammer, striker or electric impulse

Looks good...

...where do I get one?

My Shield is DAO but I like the trigger. It's not an SA but the trigger is darn good. I shot it today at 10 yards and though there is room for improvement, it and I performed well.

However, I also have a boatload of DAOs and wouldn't mind getting another hammer pistol or two. Not necessarily for carry.

As a 9mm Shield owner, it's always good to have more choices, though if I were getting a double-stack compact striker fire, I'd get the DA/SA Walther P99C AS, with it's unique decocker that allows a 9lbs./.6" first trigger pull and 4.5lbs/.3" followup shots.

Not at $600 it's not. I'm a Sig fan as well, but I don't see people flocking to the LGS to buy a $600 gun when there are options just as good for considerably less.

When I saw this Sig my eyes opened wide, my mouth began to water, then, I saw the price and said no thanks.

Looks like a nice gun. Sig quality will get a lot of people interested, especially if it is chambered in .45. I know I am in the minority, but I won't own another firearm without a manual safety. Hopefully a buddy buys one so I can shoot it!

And allows you to decock the striker, which also acts as a striker block for reholstering. Just a fantastic pistol (shoots well too).

"Unprecedented 10+1 capacity"

Umm, like my Glock 26? Which came out in 1994?

I believe they are referring to the fact that is a 10+1 capacity in a gun that is smaller in profile than a Shield and a Glock 43 which is a tad smaller than a Glock 26. So ya, kind of a big deal to put that much capacity in a gun this small.

I have never heard a positive review of an electric impulse trigger on a compact 9mm. ;)

Nice gun, but I expect the street price will be 50% more than the proven Shield. That will not kill the Shield. Not everyone spends all their discretionary $ on guns. Although I do.

It's no more a shield killer then the MP2.0 is a Glock killer. Nor the G43 a Shield killer.

This is a big deal for me as well. Also, one of the reasons I sold my Sig P320sc for a Shield 9C. I won’t say I will not buy a pistol without a safety but I like the added layer of comfort carrying a gun with a safety.
