Nice-looking knife. I have a few blades, mostly for function though. Carry a Kershaw daily and have a CRKT and a Benchmade as well as a Buck 102 which usually accompanies me into the woods. The only collectible knife I have is a Randall No 14 Border Patrol that was a gift from a close friend.

Yep, I give Knifes for Christmas gifts every year. My son and Grandson as well as my son in law and daughters have quite a collection of nice usable knifes....smokey mountain knife works has some great deals on knifes. I carry my grandpas old case pocket knife daily....think of him often because of his knife and he has been gone over 50 years....they are worth the money and the memories they really do create...are priceless!

series guy;

If you find you do not have enough time to provide all those knives the love and attention they need I would consider adopting the Schatt & Morgan Jumbo Trapper.

Couple of my favorites.

Yes, I like knives. I do still have the first one I ever bought, a Loewen Sodbuster, or Hippekniep, that I bought in Amsterdam in 1970, for six bucks. (The few Knives I had as a kid were not bought by me, and in any case have been lost in time.) For most of my adult life, I have had fistfuls of Opinels and Swiss Army knives, mostly stashed on motorbikes to supplement their tool kits and for use in camp.

In recent years, I have accumulated quite a few others, some traditional slipjoints, some European working knives, several Scandinavian fixed blades, and the obligatory basic selection of Bucks and Ka-Bars. There are a few modern knives on my shelf, too.

I always carry two or three knives: an SAK, usually an Alox Electrician unless I am in the woods, where I take a Farmer; then an Okapi Biltong or an Opinel, usually a 6 slimmed for pocket carry. I may add a third knife, usually a Case stockman or Rough Rider Improved Muskrat, or sometimes my micarta Maserin Plow, a medium-sized Italian Sodbuster with D2 steel.

I do not really collect, but I like to investigate interesting styles and patterns as I learn about them. My knives are all modestly priced, only a couple over $100, and most in the $10-60 range.

I do!

Wow you still have your first knife. I do not know whether to be amazed or saddened. I used up or lost the first dozen or so knives I had as a kid. I still have been known to use them up. I guess I lead a different life than most. I had to use one folder to attach a target to a tree, to test the sights on my rifle before I could continue the bear hunt, after I dropped my rifle. I think everyone here knows where the bullet hit. I really liked that knife. Another time I had to firmly stick my folder in a fence post to stretch the locked chain so I could shoot the lock off as the key had been lost. Never did find that knife.

Yes, a Buck 301 Stockman bought with paper route money about 1968. All students in wood shop class were required to bring a pocket knife. That was not much of a demand since nearyl all boys and many girls had been carrying a pocket knife daily since elementary school. The most commonly carried ones in elementary school like mine had a spear blade, cap lifter/flat head, can opener and awl. The wood shop teacher recommended a stockman. My Buck seemed like a step up to a man's knife. It held an edge a lot longer than my elementary school camp knife which I lost track off.

i sure prefer the pics to be in the post rather than as an attachment. after years of suffering through an ever worsening and bloated photobucket, i'm kicking myself for not going to imgur long ago.
