Woke Up To a Flooded Kitchen

Our icemaker works well......

...and produces plenty of ice. Except 'somebody' keeps the freezer so crammed with meat bought by the ton (because it's more expensive that way) that the freezer can't handle it and all the icemaker makes is blocks of ice in the bottom of the tray.:(:(:(

I bought a pump that would suply the fridge automatically from a 5 gallon spring water bottle. It was awesome, but did not last very long.

I shut off the ice maker in my freezer by flipping the lever up. Can it still leak? I suppose so.

I use ice trays with bottled water instead because the ice from the ice maker looks like frozen chalk.
That's the thing. On ours, the leak wasn't in the ice maker itself. Rather, it was the water valve that wasn't closing completely.

According to the tracking number, our new water valve should be sitting at the Post Office. If it's the right one, I should have the ice maker repaired today.
I'm also going to replace the supply line. I still have a lot of line left from when I hooked up the ice maker.
We've been using ice trays. Those work fine but I like the convenience of an ice maker.

WOW! That was quick. :D
That's the thing, It's not an overly complicated repair.
Install part, plug it in and connect the water line.
Took a fair amount of going up and down the basement steps.
And of course I made sure I had everything I needed. Screwdrivers, dikes, wrenches and fittings but it seemed like I kept forgetting something.

I have ice maker and water in the door. Love it I used soft copper for supply shut off is one of the water closet type. Make soft copper coil it will fix so you can pull frig out mine is a built in. No leaks no problems frig has a water filter ice clear and good tasting water.

That's the thing. The lines were fine. The water valve wasn't closing completely and just kept dribbling water into the icemaker. It overflowed and made a puddle on the kitchen floor.
