Or maybe any other gun/hunting-related decals or stickers?

If so, you may want to consider removing them.

It seems area thieves are targeting vehicles with NRA decals and other firearms-related stickers. They're looking to steal anything of value, but seeing those decals on cars hints that there may be guns inside.

This isn't anything new, I don't think, but with heavily attended outdoor events around here...NASCAR and Speed Street and other Memorial Day venues...thefts are increasing.

You can read more about this by clicking here.

I've stayed ahead of this trend for a few years now, having removed my NRA decals and my Gadsden Flag stickers from both my vehicles.

I don't have any of those silly gun warning signs or stickers on the doors or windows of my house, either.

So you sorta have to ask yourself which is more important to you. Visibly showing support for the NRA and bragging about what kinds of guns you own with product decals...or taking steps to keep your guns safe and in your possession.

Though I've never been one to advertise, I agree its a bad idea to have any kind of gun related stickers on a vehicle. Theft is the obvious concern...but lately, I've also began considering the possibility of a threat from militant antis...and politically motivated freaks like ANTIFA vandalising a vehicle simply because they know a "gun nut" owns it...or worse, harassing the driver and occupants of such a vehicle.

It sucks to say this...but we really are under attack. I'm not saying "attack" as in violently...but in the eyes of the idiot masses, those of us for personal freedoms, pro 2A, pro America, and members of groups like the NRA are now deviants.

I refuse to put anything on my vehicles...I just don't trust people anymore.

I dunno. My theory is you can trust about half of the people in society. The trick is in knowing which half a person fits into...and that can be hard to figure sometimes.

That became part of my thought processes a little over a year ago. You don't like to think of fellow citizens tearing up your property over an ideology or your personal beliefs, but we've seen so much of that since late last year that it can no longer be ignored as a possibility.

I have never had a NRA, gun club, or sticker on my car/truck that denotes I might have something of value in my ride. If your vehicle parks outside it tells the same message and also includes you residence!.

Same with throwing away boxes that denote something expensive was purchased. No TV, computer boxes sitting in front of my house saying I just bought this big ticket item.

Thieves do target vehicles for the purpose of stealing guns. I know of a gun dealer who was at a state cowboy match and the labeled van was broken into and cleaned out at the dealer's motel.

I agree 100%. I've never put those kind of stickers or signs on my house or vehicles. They have always struck me a being "goodies to steal inside" advertisements.

I do have some political stickers on my rear window - which may make me a bit of a target for those of an opposing political viewpoint - but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

Florida has an 'IMAGINE' license plate. Does that mean B&E boys hit them looking for grass?
I've had a NRA sticker on the windshield and rear bumper. When there is a gun in the car so am I.
Never, ever leave a firearm in your car while it is unattended.

I have never placed stickers of any kind on my cars, and that includes bumper stickers. Especially political bumper stickers.

Locally, there is a Fiesta Texas theme park with a huge parking lot. I have understood that it is a prime target for breaking into parked cars and stealing any contents. Apparently parking lot security there is poor to nonexistent. I wouldn't be surprised that most theme park parking lots are equally prone to car break-ins. Many out-of-towners, and cars may be parked there for a long time while their owners are inside having fun.

I've had an NRA sticker on my truck for so long it has faded out over the years. I appreciate the advice but I plan to leave it on there. If thieves want to take their chances, they can do it as their own risk. And no I don't leave any firearms inside of a vehicle.

Decision Made! LOL! (not my truck, but I couldn't resist taking a photo of it) I do however have a single NRA sticker on my truck window. I'm debating with myself over it's worth. When I run into someone in a parking lot and see they have an NRA sticker, I am more open to talk to them.

Years ago I was driving through my own rural neighborhood, trying to find my dog that had slipped out of his fence. I pulled into a long winding driveway with the intent to inquire about Bubba. I met a lady walking towards her mailbox, and she was being naturally observant of me. When I got closer and started to roll down my window, I visually saw her relax a little and smile.

She'd seen my dog about an hour earlier and pointed me in the right direction. Before I rolled my window up she said "I was wondering who was coming down our driveway, as we are so secluded here, and then I saw your sticker there (pointing at my NRA decal). My husband has those on his trucks too. I figured you were okay." True story.

But I can see in today's crazy mixed up world, how a pro-gun decal could also make you a target. I've had similar conversations start up with strangers when they saw my UBK sticker (United Bowhunters of KY), and discovered we had mutual friends. So they're not all bad, thus my own debate with myself continues...........

I live in California and I of course don’t do this. Any bumper sticker I would put would be like saying “Please trash my truck while I’m not around!”.
I’m also concerned about my NRA magazine sitting in my mailbox for others to see.

No NRA, political, "Protected by S&W" stickers, etc. on my vehicles, no election signs in my yard, no "Is there life after death - Trespass here and find out" signs on my fence, and no T-shirts with similar messages.

There is no need for strangers to know my opinions - that is reserved for friends and family.

I work hard at being "the gray man" no one notices.

I always wonder about those who put political signs in their front yards around election time. No way I would EVER do that for any candidate under any circumstances.
