Read on another forum that X-treme Bullet's parent company has filed for bankruptcy. I placed an order last week and even-though they dinged my credit card, I haven't received a confirmation via email.

In the event that there is some big delay before things get straightened out, is there another good source for copper plated bullets.

Same here. I used to shoot a lot of Berry's and Rainier but now with coated bullets I don't see any real advantage to plated anymore. I never found anything really wrong with plated bullets and both Berry's and Rainier gave me excellent results. But when I can get 1000 coated bullets for my .357 for only $70 plated starts to loose it luster.

Say it isn't so... I guess that's the reason no Memorial Day or Fathers Day sales this year. Too bad. With 20% off and free shipping during their bigger sales it wasn't bad.

Will look for other vendors now.

Some of my local shooting buddies like and use tons of Extreme bullets. I can't get a reason why except they just like the shiny look. As a 30 yr. handloader and competitive shooter, I've tried them all. I eventually settled on Montana Gold for jacketed and high quality cast lead for non-match. With the advent of Hi-Tek coating I rarely ever buy anything else.

I have wondered from time-to-time how Extreme could make money???

I'm a huge fan of X-Treme Bullets and Freedom Munitions. I thought Freedom Munitions was the parent company to X-Treme?
I'm still getting promotional emails from Freedom and they are continuously increasing their product lines, many of which use X-Treme Bullets. IDK, but I hope everything is okay as Freedom and X-Treme have been my go to sources for bullets and ammo lately.

Nobody needs to take my opinions as gospel, and for sure, they are merely opinions.

With that said...

As plated bullets, Xtreme makes darn good plated bullets. Which is really a lot like saying that McDonald's make a darn good fast food hamburger. The sales show it and opinions pile up, but at the end of the day we are still talking about a fast food hamburger. It isn't a steak and it sure isn't cuisine. It's potential is limited.

Plated bullets are great CHEAP slugs. I have burned through literally many tens of thousands and I have another 40k of them on hand, not yet loaded. Berry's and Xtreme are neck & neck, IMO. If you want prettier and shinier, Xtreme has the lead. If you want a better company to deal with, Berry's buries Xtreme. (Ha, had to)

And when the dust settles, it's still a plated bullet. Cheap, shoots clean, and it's potential is limited. If you want to mow down steel plates, do training schools, hit the "A" zone in IDPA and work on all your fundamentals, these plated slugs are fantastic.

If you showed up to a Bullseye competition with them, you'd be out of your mind and/or absolutely clueless and desperately needing help.

That's the bullets. Freedom Munitions is the textbook definition of junk ammo that is far too often suspect, shoddy and downright dangerous ammo that won't ever find it's way in to my guns.

Xtreme has definitely figured out plated bullets and quite well, I'd say. Business and customer service definitely seems like something they haven't figured out. And re-manufactured ammo/"factory reloads" ? Freedom Munitions is unsafe junk with a well-documented history of face in the dirt failure.

If Freedom Munitions goes away, our world gets a little bit brighter.

I'd be sorry to hear that news IF they do go belly up. Great product at VG prices. I pretty much went exclusively to Extreme plated bullets for a while (and still have a good 2/yr supply laid in). That said, after some recent experimentation, I think I'll be just as fine with Missouri Bullets coated line up. Same great service, good pricing and a wide selection.

I like Xtreme. I bought my last 1000 from Cabelas and got 200 45 ACP brass in the form of a mail in rebate from Xtreme. Bullets were on sale, Cabelas had free shipping, got 200 pieces of new brass And used my Cabelas bucks to pay for most of it. They have always been part of reliable, accurate reloaded ammo. If they happen to go away, I'd probably go with Rocky Mtn. Reloading, who also happen to be in Lewiston, ID.

I've been waiting (3) months for my rebate brass & just a few days ago I sent them an email asking what happened & when I'll get them. Got a reply just saying it'll be taken care of.

I used to be very happy with Xtreme but I got a defective box of 240gr .44 bullets that leaded the barrel. Bullets (Xtreme's) I got before & after shot fine with the same load. After (4) months of going back & forth between different people & having to provide the same information I gave up trying to get replacements. I've noticed other changes in their quality plus they've been slower getting shipments out too. Sad.

In the future I'll use Rainier's or Zero's as my first choices.

I hope the Carson City Nevada shop survives..........
I am only 46 miles away from it and get great prices when I drive down.

Never had a problem with their bullets, lead or plated.

6/13/2017 10:17 am;

The main office in Carson has stopped doing door sales.

All orders will now be via the net through the Idaho store.....
for all sales.

Ed.
