Good things come to those who wait they say. Or something like that. Well, it's not all sunny here with the RAM brand and FCA's policy (powertrain warranty is now only 5y/60k instead of 5y/100k) but time has changed, I have changed, and being patient worked out for us. What am I trying to say you might ask.
I didn't want to hijack the most current vehicle replacement thread

so I started my own. If you read my posts you'll know that we have (or had) a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT and a 2013 Durango R/T.
Love 'em both. We spent a good coin on both to get them where we wanted them. The Ram got a lift, wheels, brushguard, KC lights and a cb radio (I sound like a redneck, I know). The Durango got some tires, air- and ignition upgrades, some billet parts and there was some more ideas in the pipeline.
The Durango was 5yrs old, less than 95k miles, fresh out of warranty and the only thing that ever broke was the water pump which was still covered by powertrain last year. We loved it. The Durango has seen at least 6 States and was a very nice traveling machine, seating 7 people plus luggage.
So why in the hell did we sell it? Well, it was with a laughing eye and a crying eye... it was out of warranty and with the current age and mileage - now - we would get the most money for it. Either that or keep it until the wheels fall off.
Well, we went online browsing looking for another nice vehicle. Of course it had to come from FCA. After days of looking we came across a 2018 Ram 1500 Laramie with 400mls on the clock. Never in a hundred years I thought I'll be able to afford one but hey... we had the Durango as trade in and I guess there is a used car market for it. We pay just a tad more than what we paid for the Durango but now we have a truck that we love, 7yr/100k miles extended warranty, 2yrs free of charge engine oil changes, free car wash for as long as we own it and a lot of other goodies written in the extended warranty.
The color is not my favorite but it's not too bad either. White is not a deal breaker for me. It's a very nice truck and I couldn't have done it without my wife. I'm glad she's into cars 'n guns just like me. She said it's something her grandfather would drive. And he was a hard working immigrant from Mexico, a country guy, serving in the Military (belly gunner) and wearing western clothes. Ha! I take it
Yeah so touching on the other thread, it's not necessarily based on time and/or mileage. Sometimes it's just opportunity and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. But we miss the Durango, it was a very good ride and served us well.
Needless to say our '03 Ram is up for sale too. And that one has served us well too. Our 2015 Dart is here to stay. It's a nice little fart can.
Sorry I wrote so much but I appreciate you sticking with me till the very end
