Try CCI Standard Velocity.....
M41's can be a little finicky and you may have to hunt around for something it likes. Be careful with any High Velocity stuff. It can batter the gun more than you might like.

(Just pray that it doesn't decide it likes Eley Tenex or similar..;))

I just noticed that you only have 300 rounds through it. That's not even a good start on break-in....)

Thanks for the quick reply from you both
I was given a few rounds of sv CCI and was worse than what I had sometimes half ejected round and new round get stuck in breach so do I just keep going with the Federal until it wears in or lighter 6.5 lb spring

For reasons I've never understood, Model 41s are notorious for (potentially) being finicky about ammo, and each one is a law unto itself. CCI SV seems to work in most guns, but now always. I'm fortunate because mine will run with just about anything, but that's not always the case. I'd recommend trying the CCI and giving the gun some time to break in. If that doesn't solve the problem, then your only option is to try as many brands and types of ammo as you can get your hands on and hope to find one or more that work well.

Load a magazine with ten rounds; place a drop of RemOil on the top round. Load and shoot. You may only have to do this once - you may have to repeat the process several times to break in your Model 41. It WILL work though. Ask me how I know. :):D:)

As some above state, IN GENERAL, CCI Std. Vel. has proven to be about the best in M41's. Not just for reliability but I find them to be the most accurate as well.

I bought my Model 41 three years ago, and experienced a number of failures to extract and failures to eject even when using CCI Standard Velocity. These failures caused failures to feed. This all stopped after I had approximately 1500 rounds through the pistol.

I currently shoot about 100 rounds per week through the pistol and am not experiencing any stoppages.

Hang in there and keep shooting. You also may want to clean your magazines once in a while to remove all the variables. Ask me how I know this.

Hello , when Walmarts in Candad stoped selling ammo ,I went to as many as I could and bought all the bulk 22 Winchester I could find . I knew that it would bauk in my Mod 41 .So a the range I sprayed on the cartridges " lyman case lube "before loading in to the magazines . This was done on the bench
,on a pape rtowel ,just a handful at a time . I used this for the 10,000 rounds I bought . This also cured several 22 auto rifles known to be jam-o-matic . this is also done by some bulls-eye shooters to avoid jams on timed and rapid fire events . Hope this helps .

I am on my third 5,000 round case of CCI Blazer in my two M41s. There is no slide battering with standard recoil springs. CCI Blazer velocity is ~1025 to 1050 fps in my M41s , not the 1150 fps listed on the CCI website. Most 22 LR velocities are listed in a 18" to 20" rifle barrel.

My guns don't function reliably with CCI Standard velocity ammo. At $4 a box my wallet wasn't too happy either.

EDIT: CCI Blazer 22 Long Rifle Ammo 40 Grain Lead Round Nose

Everyone has been so helpful I am going to try the lube and oil sounds like feeding problems and hang in there and get this gun worn in as it is new.
l had a model 52 38sp a few years ago ammunition was never a problem as I loaded my own, It seams to be cci standard velocity that everyone likes but what is cci blazer.

Don't forget to clean the factory preservative stuff they ship new pistols with, it's not a lubricant and can cause malfunctions if left in place.
Spray can of gun scrubber , brake or carburetor cleaner will help remove the stuff. Then lube it....I like RemOil on mine but any lubricant will do.

Blazer is like Federal ammo, both are produced by CCI-SV. CCI owns a lot more ammo companies but is the best ammo for the M41's and M46's as well. My 1958 year model M41 will not cycle any but the CCI-SV ammo thru it or just jam up. I also get the best accuracy from it also.

If I understand you, high velocity ammo will not cycle the gun. That being the case, lower velocity ammo will be even less likely to do so.
If the gun is used, you may have a dirty chamber which could use a good scrubbing. Also use a wooden toothpick to remove the buildup of dirt under the extractor head and in the circular groove in the breechface. If a new gun, you may have an undersized chamber which would require reaming by a gunsmith or at the factory.

I went round and round with my 41. Just when I thought I had it beaten into submission, it would start failing to eject. I tried a bunch of different ammo, various spring weights, a new extractor, lubes, greases, extreme chamber scrubbing and probably some things I've forgotten.

CCI Standard Velocity had been the go-to ammo; for everybody else! Didn't work for me. Then one day I tried Eley. Not the high priced stuff, just Eley target. I use it in my CZ 452 for long range silhouetee. My 41 worked flawlessly with the Eley ammo. It's all I use now and has not hiccuped once. As a minimum, I shoot 90 rounds of it through the 41 every week at the Friday night pistol league. It turned a picky pistol into the superb pistol I expected it to be. Now if only the ammo could turn the shooter into a superb performer . . . .
