My friend has this gun every thing that I have found on it this gun should be a 22 LR revolver with 3in barrel . But it is a S.S. 357 mag 4 in. barrel . I do not have pic,s yet but the SN is BJC08XX can anyone tell me about this gun on as little info I gave . Please Help The Mod. is 63-3 and that shows to be a 22 revolver with a 3" barrel not a 357.

You didn't mention if it has a fixed or adjustable rear sight, but the former would be a model 65 and the latter a model 66. Prefix BJC is from the early 1990s and the 65-3 was only made until 1986, so your friend's gun should be a 66-3. It may have been mis- or lightly stamped such that the second 6 looks like a 3. Photos would help here.

The M63-3 was made as a 2-inch and 4-inch 6-shot .22LR. Never as a 3-inch. If it is a M63, you're probably measuring the barrel incorrectly. Measure from the flat face of the cylinder to the tip of the barrel.

The ship date, irregardless of model, based on the s/n, would be.....
May of 1992.
Give or take.

63-3

I can't get a photo to post I just don't know how . But this is the right MOD. 63-3 (S.N. BJC0831) and it is a 4" barrel 357 mag

If it is a six round, 4" barrel (no full underlug) .357 with an adjustable rear sight it is a model 66-3 with a misstamped model number. Those were placed manually and someone did it wrong. A photo of the whole gun would be nice too :).
