Here is a mystery Smith & Wesson Model 639. I can't seem to find this S&W 639 any where on line. It resembles my ASP 39. All the S&W model 639's that I have had are the same size of S&W 39's. There have been no modifications to this S&W 639 so what do I have here. Helps please.

Mystery S&W 639, I have taken this gun apart and have not seen no welded marriage marks or cuts to the frame or slide and barrel. The Magazine has doesn't show any signs of modification as well it's the same size as my ASP 39 magazine. I'll be posting more pictures of this without the grips on I'll also be calling Smith & Wesson hopefully we can share some light on this Mystery 639 (It's as though this Smith & Wesson left the factory like this or it's been converted by ASP. This smith & Wesson is a Mystery

Its been polished and the rear sight looks smaller maybe its the non adjustable rear sight. I am posting pictures of my earlier original for comparison. Mine has the adjustable rear sight wich some people do not care for.

Absolutely agree this is a custom pistol. I'd look hard with magnification to see if it's signed somewhere. It looks to be well done. How does it shoot? ASP & Devel were the biggest names but other gunsmith's were experimenting too. If it's a good shooter, you're golden.

Will check again and will post some better pictures tomorrow.
