What Altamont Grip color would you recommend for a new 686 stainless ?

I am wanting to order new wooden grips and want to go with a color that is close to the original color of the wooden grips that use to be on the 686. I am looking at the combat grips as well. What do you recommend? Thanks

I have always preferred SS handguns dressed with hardwood grips like Rosewood, Cocobolo or Walnut. My second choice would be black.

I don't think they make them anymore, but I got a pair of targets in black walnut for my 617. Nice contrast against the stainless steel.

I've got similar for my 686 PRO 5". They're kind of dirty in the pic but look great in real life. However I do find that a pair of Uncle Mike combats (rubber) are more comfortable to shoot with.

I have tried several of the Altamont "super" woods and prefer the Super Walnut on stainless guns like the L Frames.
As you can see the Black/Silver I got is mostly black and the "rosewood" is very red.
The "ivory" grips can be quite slippery and are also somewhat heavy.
The Altai conversion grip fits my hand and points very well.

After getting into the 44 Special mostly thanks to Skeeter Skelton,
I finally discovered the L Frame 44 and fell in love all over again.
Having shown some Altamonts may I say NOTHING looks as good as real walnut.
These are Herretts on an N frame.
