Ha. It's my old eyes. It sure does look like an S but I have been fooled many times before.
If I had one of these I'd try using some steel-cased Tula 38 specials in it to see if that worked any better than brass cased. I'd think the steel wouldn't swell as much and would "spring back" better than the brass - making for better extraction. I've always heard that is why you can't reload the steel cases - because they spring back when you try to size or crimp them. You aren't going to be able to reload the cases anyway - even the brass ones - so what is there to lose?
