They are definitely a great revolver, like almost any Smith. While not having a lock in my opinion is nice for long term value, it shouldn't make much difference if you plan to shoot the hell out of it! My father in law has one and it is a lot of fun. The only downside to these pertains to the advice above, loading ten rounds of .22. get the speedloaders and a whole lot of ammo now while it's on the shelves. With that revolver you will need it all! Five cylinders per box, compared to over right cylinders for a regular six shooter!!
