For those interested I just bought the new 617 and 686 plus. Still am in shock I found them together for sale. They completed a first ever trifecta week for me as I found and bought a 325 Nightguard NIB earlier this week as well.

The first 357 I had found a few weeks ago had a very crooked barrel and I had reluctantly passed on it not knowing when I would find another. So S&W QC stikes again.

However both of these revolvers were about as perfect as it gets out if the box. Straight barrels, zero end shake, perfect timing and beautiful walnut grips that fit perfectly. Everything good! And no locks!

So just a heads up they are out there if you are looking.

Hooray! I am willing to order one of the 617s when dealers get them in stock at or below MSRP, but I would much rather buy one off the shelf that I can inspect first as you did.

I was shocked when I asked for a discount for buying them both they actually knocked off $90 on each one. I got them for $1100 a piece. I was fully prepared to pay the $1190 asking price for each as I know how hard they are to get now. Particularly the 617.

I will not buy a revolver without a close in hand inspection. They actually had a second 686 in the box they went to get for me and I told them, "Nope, I want these two I already looked at." That was the only 617 they had and the first they had gotten they said.

Congratulations on your new S&W Revolvers.
You have a nice collection there. I like them all.

I'm excited for my 2025 S&W 686 M.G. 357Rem
Mag in route Monday.

My first order on a new S&W 686 M.G. from
another Store did come in.

Long story short. I have to say it was very
obvious Quality Control was lacking. Very
disappointed and had to reject it (review
in the other M.G. thread). Definitely NOT
like my '90s - '00s S&Ws and M.G.s.
I hope the one coming on Monday I can take
home.

The Best to you and your Endeavors.
