Yesterday, I picked up my Performance Center Shield 45 with 4" barrel and milled RMR-ready slide.
The first shot out of the gun was a hit on the seven inch steel plate at thirty five yards. Moving up to fifteen yards, I ran a warm-up mag slowly, then did a seven rounder has fast as I could pull the trigger, one miss.
The trigger isn't noticeably different than the previous Shield 2.0 offerings, which isn't a detraction, since it is already excellent.
The fiber optic sights are a big improvement on the already excellent standard Shield offering. The front sight post is much narrower, which I like. The fiber optic enhances ability to quickly pull up a great sight picture, whether using MT or threat focused. If I ever decide to become a plate competitor, this will definitely be the set-up.
The additional heft afforded by the four-inch barrel cuts down noticeably on muzzle recoil lift and recovery time.
I'm in no big rush to get the RMR installed and set up. This gun is great just the way it is.
So far, I would easily recommend this over the standard Shield 45 offering. The extra money is, IMO well worth the enhancements.
I have quite a bit going on the next few days, but I'll get more pics and reviews up when I get a holster built for it and the RMR installed.
