Very true, posting a sign does not mean that it was seen by a guest. Was it only written in English, relieving other nationalities of compliance?
In Texas, there are very specific rules for posting signs prohibiting guns on premises. The first two, below, are legal because they follow the state's rules for signage. The third is not a legal sign in Texas, and can be ignored. The fourth is also not a legal sign in Texas, but it is absolutely correct.

And, if I am not mistaken, the 30.06 and 30.07 signs have to be at least a certain size, quite large, in order to be legal.

True. Here are the requirements: A "30.06/30.07 sign" must contain the following: 1) the proper statutory language (written above) in both English and Spanish; 2) words posted in block letters; 3) that are one-inch in height; 4) appearing in contrasting colors; and 5) the sign must be displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.
I will assume you are absolutely right. However, who wants to go through being arrested, cuffed and stuffed, hiring a lawyer and going to court to prove that the sign is not legal?
I encountered a related problem when I was staying in a motel in North Carolina a couple years ago for a cousin's wedding. I don't remember any type of "no firearms" sign on the door, but the motel had a bar with no defined boundaries. My understanding is that in NC you cannot carry concealed in a place that serves alcohol, so with the bar being so completely open and without defined boundaries it basically made the whole motel a place that served alcohol where concealed carry was prohibited. At least that was my perception.
Odd that a sign banning guns refers to Section 30-06.

The OP sign means the hotel management just doesn't want you all to shoot the TV during dry fire practice. (like a friend of mine did a long time ago at Day's Inn.)
There are two carry prohibition clauses (30.06, 30.07), and the sign must be specific. This is defined in the law. If the sign does not comply, the property owner can still ask you to leave, and you must.
Some hotels in the Reno area have signs, not sure to what extent CCW holders obey, I am confident it ain't many.
I think those signs are "feel good" signs for the liberal anti-gunners. The liberals know that criminals, which carry guns, will religiously obey signs like that and not enter the place. The liberals can then stay there with no fear of gun toting criminals!
