How long have you carried the same EDC pocket knife?

Bought a Buck 110 in 1977 and carried it till I retired in 1996. Belt strap was so worn out it actually broke on the leather case. Have a Benchmade I carry now but don't remember which model. Also used a Spyderco Mariner when responding for oil spills and drills. Cut a lotta rope with that one. Frank

Carried the same Victorinox Huntsman Swiss Army knife all but about 3 days from 1985 until 2017 when I foolishly laid it in the windshield wiper recess on my car just aft of the hood ( something I had never done before ) between making rear sight adjustments with the small screwdriver blade on a S&W revolver.
Got about 4 miles down the road headed home after shooting before the sinking feeling me in the pit of the stomach. Of course when I immediately pulled over to look for the knife, it was gone.
Spent parts of the next 3 days looking along the road for my old friend, to no avail. My wife had been instructed to bury it with me when the time came.
Have had an identical spare all sharpened and ready to go for over 15 years in the event of such a catastrophe, and it is in my pocket as I type this.

I went back and read my earlier post and realized I didn't say how LONG I have carried my knife.

I bought a Benchmade 5000 auto in 2004 while I was in Kosovo. I went directly to Afghanistan later that year and was working there until 2007. Been carrying it here in the States ever since.

I have carried this Swiss Army knife on and off since the late 80s. It's been to the middle east with me a few times, and across the country many times. I've used every tool on it many more times than I could possibly guess. Except the fish scaler. I don't fish, and it has no other use I can discern.

Recently I'm back to carrying it everyday.

Been carrying my Benchmade "Mini Reflex" for about 25 years now. I also carry an "Uncle Henry" medium stockman, and a tiny Swiss Army Knife. (Yes, all three at the same time...is that over the top?).

Maybe just a wee bit.

For the past 15 years or so I have carried this Junkyard Dog II more than
any other. I clip it in my left front pocket. It is "flipper technology".
A little nudge on the button and a flip of the wrist opens the blade quickly.

For the past five or six years, I switched my EDC pretty frequently, sometimes two or three times a week. In the last year or so, however, it has been pretty stable.

Alox Electrician. If I am camping or in the woods I will switch to the Alox Farmer, for the saw. That only happens a couple of times a year.

Opinel 6 Carbone. I have modified the handles of a couple for pocket carry, one by sanding, the other by whittling. I have pretty much settled on the whittled one, because I prefer the drop point I filed on that blade.

Okapi Biltong, for the sheepsfoot blade.

The little Channellocks are always in the RFP, too.

One of 2 Buck 110's one on my work pants the other on my jeans. Everyday for over 30 years. Wore them both out bought a third and sent
The first two back to Buck came back looking new for $20.

For a million years I carried a little Buck penknife given to me by my brother. Then for a brief few years I carried a little two blade Case penknife. About 2004 I bought a Benchmade Presidio Auto. It has been an excellent EDC. Sincerely. bruce.

A while back I found a Case Trapper in a pawn shop. It was dirty and looked like it had been riding around in the back of someones truck. I bought it for $20 and cleaned it up. It had never been sharpened and the blades were in new shape. It fits in a Mini-Mag flashlight case and rides on my belt everyday.

CRKT Ignitor I carry when I'm not at work since about 2009

Craftsman I carry at work I've been carrying since 1995 or so.

Gerber Multitool I carry at home and at work since 1995

This thread is old enough that your Buck 110 has morphed into a Craftsman, you've added a CRKT, and your Gerber added five years to its life . . .

I have a Buck 110 and Gerber Multitool on my duty belt. I got the Buck right before I left the Army in 97. The Gerber I bought is 2000 (ish) to replace one I lost on an FTX with the National Guard. I guess they're not strictly "EDC" because they stay on my belt and I only carry them at work.

I don't carry the Mini Reflex much any more, but still carry the Impel. I've very recently replaced the Mini Reflex with one or the other of the Bokers pictured, depending on what color my outfit is for the day. Another poster on a different EDC thread turned me on to the Boker knife, and I liked it so much I ordered two . . .

I'm on four or five years for my latest Benchmade automatic, a Mini Reflex II with a serrated blade. Before that, I carried an Emerson CQC7 automatic for a couple years, but retired it for the smaller Mini Reflex. I've lost a couple Benchmade gentleman's auto knives over the years, but I usually have a pocket clip and a pocket gent's knife with me, the gent's knife currently the Benchmade Impel, which I've only had for a couple months . . .
