New car, nearly

2011 Tundra here with 103k miles and just enough scratches and little dents to where I don't have to worry about using it like a truck. I may trade in a couple years but for now I'm good.

How are women and cars similar to some men? They both get traded in when they see a newer model. Often the old one is the better one. Like they say the new car smell wears off rather quick then you end up with the same driving experience you used to have. Down side often is the new model probably cost more to keep her.
Like they also say....sometimes it's cheaper to keep her.

1970 Mustang Mach 1, purchased in 1982, currently has 49,000 original miles.....

Is it a daily driver? Does it see regular road use year round, like mine do?

If it's a show car, nothing wrong with that, but the low milage on a show car isn't the same as a working driver.

2004 Ram 4x4 5.7l, 106k on it and runs great. I refuse to pay for a new truck, they can cost more than a house now days lol

There are many places in the US where you'll never hear that said.

Which part
A ram that runs great
Or
Trucks cost more than houses.

I know which one around here and it has nothing to do with houses.

2011 Legacy, 6 speed, 165K+ miles. 1 new clutch, 2 new front axles. I plan to run it until it dies, since I no longer have a real (65-ish miles one way) commute). The first year or 2 I had it, I averaged 3800 miles/month; now it's usually closer to 400.

Since my 3 year warranty was about to expire, I made the dealer an offer, and bought the new one.

Did you get a new Crosstrek, or did you bump up to an Outback?

If you got the Crosstrek, and have taken delivery of it, what are any differences you've noticed so far between it and your 2016? Is it an improvement over the old one, or just more of the same?

It’s quieter, steering is even better, upsize on tires, and it’s white :D
Sound system is much better. It’s tight. I like it.
Cost me 9 grand.

Averaging 1000 miles a year it obviously isn't a daily driver. Not a show car either, just a retired bracket racer converted into a "sunny day" car. And I can guarantee your working miles aren't the same as my (quarter) miles! :)

I like the white! And I see you're like me and didn't have the crossbars for the roof rack installed. Mine are still in the factory carton out in my utility room.

I know people that trade every year for the same truck. As for yours, the dealer will make a killing on it after replacing the tires . . .

I took my Subaru Crosstrek in for its 20,000 mile service (2016),
and I got to talking with the salesman...
Nothing wrong with the one I had, but I almost succumbed to temptation. Same vehicle, white (instead of black) just brand new.
Good news is that as soon as they thought I was going to trade, while I was test driving the 2019 (I had to kill some time for the service) they did a full detail and wax job, all gratis.
Who trades for the same car with only 19,500 miles on the one they already have? All I was getting was $10,000 worth of new car smell, right?

They wouldn’t have done it otherwise, but lots of beach time on it translates to issues other than normal wear and tear. Sand goes places it’s not supposed to go... I got out paying 9k after the refund from the 5 year warranty i bought on the first one.

I did, after I stopped putting 90 miles a day commuting to work on Batmobile #1 when I retired.
Just as the original poster, I have a 2013 Mazda Miata with just under 14K miles on it. I either fly or use Amtrak, so the car is simply to get me to the airport or the train station and to go to the swimming pool a couple of days a week. 6 speed manual and A/C....life is good! Dave_n

My 2007 Dodge Caiber R/T AWD just clocked 218,000. No major issues ever. However, it has developed a very slow leak in the gasket around the oil pan, there is a leak in the seam of the coolant reservoir, and I think the alternator is beginning to go.

Since I don't want to get stranded on Route 26 between here and Hatch, I think it is time to trade up.

My question is, Caddy, or Lincoln? The Caddy is a 2013 CTS Luxury with the twin-turbo 3.0 litre V6 with 32,000 miles and an ask of $13,995. The Lincoln is a 2013 Mark Z with 37,000 miles on a 3.7 litre V6 and an ask of just under $16,900.

Decisions, decisions. Suggestions, gentlemen?

I'd buy the red one, but that's just me....:D
