This might suck. I don't like stuff that sucks.

I pretty much stay stocked up on everything all year, except for filling my 6 gas cans.

I bet water and batteries are already running out at the local stores.

I'm where the blue dot is.

I don't wish any bad weather on anyone, but if I could get 2-3 inches of rain out of it, I would be pleased. Parts of Central Georgia, particularly my little70 acre patch, are experiencing some severe drought conditions. Some of the projections show a path that would bring us some rain.

Kevin, I pray that you and your folks come out of this ok.

PS: tell Marv "howdy".

Will do Rusty.

They don't come to FL. till first of November. They have a place on Lake Marion in Haines City.

I'm planning on going to Cincinnati to hang out with them the 3rd week of September. Wish I could change that to the first week and avoid this, but the person that's brave enough to stop by and feed my viscous garage cat will be hunkered down during the storm too.

Hang tight pal.

Thanks.

Y'all know how the news is. Especially with a storm on the way, but I just heard this could be the worst storm to hit the east coast of FL in 30 years.

I was thinking it was gonna hit next Sunday...not this Sunday. Better fill up my gas cans tonight. Friends said the bottled water is already gone.

I'm really hoping Jim Cantore doesn't show up in my area!

Got home after 5, and the National Hurricane Center had drawn a dotted line right through my living room!!! Hate when that happens!

Had the generator out last week, it's ready to go. Got gas today, station was a mob scene. Cans with ethanol free gas ready to go.
Other supplies have been ready to go for a while.

Hopefully NHC will come erase this line from my living room!

Praying it stays out at sea. I have friends and family all over the east coast, and there really is no "good" path for it making landfall.

Been having discussions with family since Sunday. I hate this on so many levels. Just hit 27 year anniversary of Andrew, last Saturday, not something I ever want to go thru again.

That got ugly quickly. One day it was going to be a fading tropical storm, and the next we get this as the forecast. Hang on tight and keep bailing, folks.

I hear that!

I went to Publix yesterday to buy some crackers, and decided to get a couple more cases of water. Shelf's were full, and I never noticed anyone buying any.

I heard the shelf's were empty of everything now.

I had to go to 3 different gas stations to find one that still had gas.

We live in the Midwest, Hurricanes are a rarity here, yet I and most people I know keep spare fuel year round (piggybacks with mowing the lawn, I guess). I am surprised at how many people have less than one weeks food in the house, I mean a few 10 packs of Ramen noodles isn't going to break most people's bank, but they don't do it! But what really surprises me is: Water in Florida is always a problem, WHY don't people have a ready supply on hand? I mean, my wife keeps 16 gallons of tap water in old milk jugs, just to flush the toilets. It is also drinkable too, but she just keeps it for those odd times you might need it. (so far ONE time in the five years we have lived in the city!) But she tries to explain it to people and nobody listens!

I hope this is as much as possible a non-event for those who end up in its path. Ike went directly over my house. I beg The Almighty for no more.

Dang, that storm ate it's Wheaties today. You all on the East Coast hunker down when this sucker comes in. I am so glad it's a real low probability for this one to come close to my house right now. We've been getting nonstop rain for going on 4 weeks now and the darn ground is supersaturated right now. If we had something come in with some sizeable winds and rain, we would have severe flooding and many many trees uprooted and blown down.
