I don't recall seeing any new firearms related leather gear after about 1985 or thereabouts.

What prompts my curiosity is two like new leather pistol cases I recently found. They look new but must be at least 30 years old.

The name is still there, but it doesn't look like they make too much more than high-priced shoulder holsters.
There was also a prominent note not to contact them looking for info on older Bucheimer holsters. I suspect they must get far more calls for ID than for new orders!

The Bucheimer name may continue with a new owner to the trademark (I'm not saying it does have those rights) but it is not the J.M. Bucheimer Co., whose registration in MD was terminated there in 1992.

Trademarks can change owners and make only related products, such as Bugatti that makes an entirely modern car; and Berns-Martin, which does not make the old speed holsters. Which doesn't make them the same companies as the old ones, if you catch my drift.

The original JMB appears to have shut down in the late '80s, that being the last catalog sighted so far.

Also be aware that Bucheimer-Clark is a different company; and THAT is the company that made the Dirty Harry holster for the films. BC was formed by the respective sons of J.M. Bucheimer and E.E. Clark in 1959, as the West coast subsidiary of J.M. Bucheimer. Their various holsters are clearly marked one way or the other, including E.E. Clark's being marked separately, also (and closing with the opening of BC). BC closed in the late 1970s; so different founding dates and different closing dates and different incorporations and different catalogs -- not the same animals at all and virtually no overlap in their product lines.

Thank you, that circa 1988 close date seems to match my recollection. I am sure the pistol cases were JM Bucheimer products.
