I am officially RETIRED:D:D:D

Looked in the mirror and saw a 72 year old guy, still in reasonable shape and said if not now WHEN:D

Checked with my partner in crime ( EDWARD JONES;) ) and of course Mrs. ditrina.

Mr Jones said " You can do it!! " , of course no around the world cruises, or that elusive JEH Registered Magnum :eek:.

The plans are to down size in the spring and move closer to Tampa where our daughter and grandchildren live.

And another adventure begins!!:cool::cool::cool:

I used to believe in my own figures rather than Edward Jones', but that's another story. I waited and waited until I figured I COULD afford a world cruise, AND a new fishing boat. Turns out my figures were wrong. I ended up with a monthly surplus. I retired too late!

I did get the boat, and we have been on 13 cruises in the past 4 years. We have 4 more booked, starting with Alaska next year. We ARE in good health, ad I suppose we should buy Nursing Home insurance or put some away, but our thought it that if we forego the good times now, we may end up with too much money left and not be healthy enough to enjoy it.

Good luck to you. Live life for today, because there may not be a tomorrow!
 
Congrats man!
In just under 5 years I'll turn 62 (God willing) and I'll be eligible to start drawing social security. My wife will too (actually a year earlier).
That's when I completely hang it up for good. To say I look forward to it is a huge understatement.
Enjoy life! I'm sure you've earned it!
Hopefully your retirement will be just like my dad described his.
He told me
"I stay so busy I don't know how I ever found time to hold a full time job....
BUT, I don't do a damned thing I don't WANT to!"

Funny thing... all this time I was thinking you already had the JEH Registered Magnum!

Enjoy the new lifestyle!

I'm planning on joining the ranks in four more years! :)
