At What Age Does The Grumpy Old Guy Begin

I have been a grumpy old man for a couple of years now. I have no tolerance for stop lights, people driving in my lane, traffic, long lines, slow service at fast food places, talking to people that use "Ah" after every word and warm ice water.

My wife tells people that the speech filter for my brain to my mouth in worn out.

So 70 years old in the answer.

The question is not so much when it actually starts.

The real question is:

From what age on are the people you deal with going to accept "grumpy old man" as a valid excuse, instead of just thinking you're a jerk?

This pretty much sums it up.

I went to elementary school with a few students who were already grumpy old men. They were under 10 years old. Being a grumpy old man has nothing to do with age. It is a state of mind.

^^THIS^^

I started getting grumpy a few years ago, but decided to get over it. I'm 57 now and not grumpy, despite getting old.

I work with a guy a year younger than me who is the grumpiest most miserable person I know.

It isn't about age. Its about attitude.

i'm 69.92 and all my wives have said I was grumpy back to my early 20s. my wife hates to ride with me cause I get real grumpy over stupid, texting/talking on the phone people who don't know or care there are other people on the road. that and kids on cell phones walking in the middle of the street. she hates it when I sit on the horn and scare the stuff out of them. lee
