Does anyone know how to get in touch with these guys directly? I sent my order in last November, yes with a personal check. Their phone has been disconnected....

You could try sending them a postcard. They do seem to like doing things the old-fashioned way. ;)

At least the website seems to be current and operational at this time, unlike last summer at the time of the thread linked above. So another up-and-down-and-up apparently.

Tyler Manufacturing and Distribution Company, Inc

Of course, a disconnected phone is not a good sign.

I remember "Goodwill" being an intangible assets on a balance sheet in a sale. There is also negative Goodwill which I think would be far more applicable here. I think negative goodwill has accrued to the point that the sellers would have to pay someone to take the rights. That probably hinders any sale.

Interesting since these threads have popped up the price for the S&W J and K adapters has gone thru the roof on the auction site. I paid way too much for a black and brushed alum J (#1) adapters recently. But hey, I wanted them.

Historically, they have not tried to keep up with the modern emphasis on immediate satisfaction, instant delivery, automated response and electronic interaction favored by today's impulse buyers.

Their products aren't immediately necessary like insulin. No one gets sick or is dying for lack of an immediate T grip.

Tyler just makes an iconic product that stands the test of time: a product that no one needs instantly.

Although I know lots of impatient folks get riled up by waiting a bit, I know of no instance when anyone with a modicum of patience didn't get their order.

I once had trouble with a custom knifemaker who ignored my queries about my overdue order.

I contacted the Postal Inspection Service and about a week later got my knife and an apology.

Tyler does business via the US mails. Just a thought...

If they cashed your payment and are not shipping and are avoiding contact, that's suspicious behavior.

In the meantime, another maker offers about the same thing with a better attachment. Someone will probably post that name, which I've forgotten.

The Tyler adaptors that I've owned were bought second hand, so I have no direct experience with that firm.

Another option is to just buy replacement grips, but the originals and an adaptor are usually more compact.

I've ordered a few direct from Tyler over the years and never been disappointed, despite the repeating bad press. This is not to say that things may not have taken a distinct turn for the worse recently. A few years back I found a table at a gun show with about 4 different Tylers on it. The owner said I was the first person that stopped by that knew what they were! Silly me bought one I needed for $15 and left the rest on the table. Dang it!

The last one I purchased took eight months to deliver. If that's not a "modicum of patience" I don't know what is. They were of course somehow able to cash my check within a week of receiving it. All that time they were making money off my money for which I was getting nothing in return.

It exhausted my supply of patience, though, so I've never done business with them again.

With all the bad press on Tyler (and it keeps on commin) people are wary about sending them orders. I gotta think the folks at Tyler wait until they have a predetermined number of the most popular T numbers before they fire up the furnace. I paid $40 ea. for 3 Tylers from Robertson last year. That's the max I'll pay since now everybody charges tax and shipping.
Last month I ordered a black BK J Frame adapter and got it in 4 days.

Wow, I need to thank Terry ( Raisedin99) again for mailing me one Gratis.
Thank you! This is a great place

I've been buying the BK adapter for several years now and they are better and you will get your product within a couple days. Look under the "Dealers" on the Classifieds.

I solved the Tyler TGrip problem by ordering from Kip at BK Grips! He is wonderful, responsive and timely. I had my order in two or three days of sending him a check.
