I know the answer. LGS has a 3" 65-6 in exc condition for $495. 65s have a cult following and 3" is extra gravy on the biscuit. I can't afford it but there's always a CC. If it's there when I can make it there tomorrow I think it will be mine.

If I were in your shoes, had the money, and the gun checked out ok...

Why don't you own it yet? It would be mine already.
When my then financee` and I broke it off, she declined my offers to buy back the (hard to find) 3" M13 I had bought her. I consoled myself by buying a 3" M66-2 which I still have.
A 3" round butt K frame is the best all around gun for so many purposes.

Good to know your limits (even though it hurts some times!) That was a great price. I paid just under six for mine before Christmas but I've been looking for one for a few years.

Well if any of you guys in SW Pa. want it it's at Ace's in Washington. I decided that even though I want it I can't I can't afford it. A mans got to know his limitations.

Frankly a good and mature decision. While you may always remember "the one that got away" spending money you don't have for something you don't need is never the right choice. In my past I've spent money I shouldn't have to my regret. Since then I've passed on many great deals because they weren't in my budget and have far fewer regrets.

That's one of the smarter posts I've read. They're will be plenty of deals down the road when you're in a better financial situation.

I bought my 65-5 for the same price 3 years or so ago and felt like I got a bargain. If Aces in Washington were Washington State instead of Washington DC I'd probably be tempted to head there to buy this one.

FWIW, I've passed on a couple of chances at my grail gun for that very reason. Both times I chased after a 640ND on a gun auction site, and both times I had to bow out when bidding exceeded my budget.

But I haven't given up on getting one. Some day it'll happen when everything lines up just right.
