Question about PayPal PLEASE NO TAR AND FEATHERS

I use PP for the convenience it offers. It is not linked to my bank account, but they do have my CC number. By not linking it, I cannot use the money in PP to pay for things from PP. That's a recent change, but due to some law change not a policy change. So to get the money I have to have them send a check, which costs me $5.

I recently ordered a leather jacket and after paying through PP I discovered the "manufacturer" was not in the US, but in China. They imply they are a US manufacturer but buried on some obscure page it's mentioned they are in China. I also don't believe they actually manufacture anything either, since I found the exact same jacket on three other similar websites.

I emailed the day after payment and told them to cancel the order, they ignored me. I emailed again the next day and they told me it shipped, and gave me a tracking number. The tracking number said they'd only printed a label. Five days pass before it actually began moving, so they had plenty of time to canx the order. I started a dispute with PP and they hemmed and hawed until it arrived, then told me there was nothing they were willing to do.

So I disputed it with my CC company and they refunded my money. Now I have a crappy jacket, that likely isn't leather at all, that was free in the end.

I use PP but not happy with them. If you buy something with PP, the money is out of your PP account in milliseconds. However, to transfer money into or out of your PP account to your bank account takes a week!

A little while ago I bought a gun over the phone from a dealer in eastern PA> They sent me a PayPal invoice that I paid sing PayPal. I have heard they are anti gun, but they allow this sporting goods store to issue an invoice for a revolver purchase. I use it, but with VENMO and som eother services, there are other options .

So CC does give you some added protection . Good to know.

last year when I had a problem was told BAC that problem was in Pay Pal + Ebays control + they would do nothing - my brother in law experience the same answer from master card - both were credit + not debit cards -

Amazing that people will use PayPal when most gun people are the first to boycott or refused to deal with anti gun places like Dicks. Panera bread, Starbucks, but PP is OK??
I have found that even self-described hardcore pro-2A people will look the other way and ignore the fact that they are dealing with (and thus supporting) an anti-2A organization if it is "convenient" for them. :(

And then we wonder why we are losing the war to save our 2A rights. :( Duh!

Use CC!

I have had one CC for over 40 years and use it on ALL internet charges! It has never been hacked or numbers used by anyone else but me! It has a credit limit of $1500.00! I have a PP acct but it sets ideal. Occasionally I buy on eBay and there was a time, after eBay bought out PP, eBay required you to use PP(not me)!
