Personally, still carry my 9mm 642-1. I might add a third moon clip, but don’t see the issues coming this far north.
Mine is in my truck. Been in there since we started with the uptick of shootings at Walmarts. Unless the shooting starts as I’m getting out of it or somewhat nearby, I’m responding with the revolver. Even less of a chance of me tossing on my body armor... but at least the option is there.

Ya Never Know When A Protest Will Pop-Up
Here a couple of weeks ago........
I was crossing the ferry from MO to KY and the deck hand advise the
three of us fares to take the first road outta town,
as there was a protest march underway there in Hickman KY. (pop. 2400)
Just missed the protests in Laramie, WY....
Passed by the courthouse and it was boarded up.

I’m having trouble understanding why you think a cop, undercover or otherwise, would randomly shoot if they saw you carrying a gun.

That wasn't our experience in our service pistol trials in 1992 (Nor the NYPDs) OK, it's not 1992 but memories and other negative attributes remain. The competition has improved too.
Someone mentioned the 3500 lb car earlier. I learned how to do a bunch of interesting things with vehicles back when, but that was before air bags and fuel pump cutoff switches. Also before our vehicles got put on diets. Added edit: forgot the automatic braking systems.
If you've got thoughts/fantasies of using a current auto in ways other than basic transportation, you need to do some research and possible reconsideration of how you're going to do it. Having the engine shut down and the air bags deploy in the midst of your "escape" is counter productive.

Keith-I have a Sig PM400 Scorpion in .300Blk. Suppressed I love it. I have a Sig MPX short barrel rifle in 9mm suppressed. Both are a blast to shoot and with red-dot sights are deadly accurate. Grab one and have some fun.

Interesting observations, especially that the PoPo might have cause to shoot someone with concealed weapon. As I puzzled on that, the Philando Castile case came to mind. That was where an ill-trained cop shot a legal CCW. A young African American CCW. In a Minneapolis suburb. On a Facebook Livestream.
Also noted the New York State connection, which itself is a result of 100+ years of the racially-inspired Sullivan Act.
I note this because there has been quite admirable restraint from US law enforcement vis a vis various armed protesters. My Area of Operations encompasses a dozen states, including Minneapolis, and I have interacted with numerous departments during the riots. The overall professionalism and restraint shown has been something I know that I could not personally muster. Literally armed protestors were present at hundreds of events with almost zero negative impact.
Certainly there was some limited cases of trouble, such as the assaults in Albuquerque. However, the best example of LE restraint was the Las Vegas goofballs in plate carriers who planned to attack a peaceful protest. FBI SWAT knew they were planning an attack, but reportedly waited until they prepped their six pack of Molotov Cocktails in the parking lot to swoop in. My firearm selection hasn't changed. A few people on here mentioned trading a Shield for a P365, but that never crossed my mind. In fact, as I've stated before, I bought a Shield and an M&P Subcompact this year in lieu of buying a P365 or Hellcat. I prefer the slightly larger, heavier & thinner Shield because I like a longer grip forward & aft and a little more weight, and a Subcompact that is thicker & heavier yet because—in my hands—they shoot better and now I have two guns that can fill that role that provides some redundancy though they are different enough from one another to have their own attributes worth carrying together or separately (I arm to how I am dressed and not the other way around). I bought these two pistols right before the quarantine so, again, it had nothing to do with riots per se. I don't think carrying one gun with a few more rounds, or even two, is going to do much when we're talking about riots. Walking around with an AR-15 or a shotgun might do slightly more (though that invites other problems), so I think the important thing is that everyone is armed with whatever so that collectively good people can intervene whether that is on the side for law enforcement, on a side against law enforcement, and/or on a side for or against fellow civilians. Having more than one gun isn't a bad idea if that means the ability to arm someone else who isn't willing or able to carry, especially if more people are doing it (which means we can arm more unarmed allies), but I also think these riots are largely orchestrated and thus something to keep in mind. That doesn't mean the threat isn't real, but there is a lot more we can and should be doing to be proactive and try to head off these issues in my opinion. That said, one of the benefits of a Subcompact M&P is that I can pop in a 17-round magazine. If I was carrying a P365 in it's 12+1 configuration, I might opt instead for a Glock 48 with one of those aftermarket 15+1 magazines instead. Better yet, I would just rather carry a full-size M&P9, G19 or G45, or a PX4 Storm Compact because they will all shoot faster and more accurately than a P365 or Shield, but like I said, I'm not sure that's going to do much. If anything, I would probably rather have two smaller guns than one larger gun in the event someone stripped me of my gun or it malfunctioned.

Nothing that's happened has tempted me to change my hardware. What I carry will be sufficient, if it isn't a few more rounds won't make a difference.
Before anyone decides they need to carry a long gun in their vehicle, the chances of you actually needing it are microscopic compared to the chances of it being stolen. Most here are older. Apparently you've forgotten, or were asleep, during the 70s. Same old same. Don't compound panic with bad decisions that only assist in arming criminals.

One of the great things about living in this time is the selection of firearms available. Again, a reliable,high capacity semi-automatic in a fairly small package. I agree that avoiding danger is one of the best options but sometimes hot spots can't be avoided and trouble comes looking for you. I don't think I have too much to worry about in my every day environment. When I travel, that's a different story. Even Sioux Falls SD experienced some rioting and it is what I consider a small town. These riots had nothing to do with police brutality. They were all about animals wanting to go wild and they know they can get away with it in a crowd. Arrests were made here and I am hopeful that there will be more to come.

Same here. When not working and just going about my business out here in Amish country I carry my 340 or Model 12. However when I’m working, or forced to go near Philly, I have been carrying the Glock 32 to back up my revolver. I also figured the noise and pyrotechnics of the .357 Sig should discourage any crowds, although hitting the gas is still my first choice. It’s a sign of just how messed up our world has become that I’m carrying a Glock. I think it may be a sign of the apocalypse.

None of the out of hand incidents around here, (so far), no reason to rethink my carry choice, (Shield 45). Retired, so there's no need to go anywhere trouble might start. That said, if the S ever does hit the fan, I'm dialing AR-15.

Not really. I still carry my S&W M&P .40 +2 spare mags, but I have gone to keeping my Glock 19X +2 spare mags in a secure box in my vehicle as well. I am no where near any of the real non-sense, but that doesn't mean someone's wheels aren't turning here. SEMPER GUMBY!

I'm far enough from Phoenix to be easily able to avoid the trouble areas. I still carry pretty much what I carried before. Usually, that's a G43 or a Shield with an extra magazine, or a J-frame with extra speed strips or speed loaders. On occasion, if going to an area that might be prone to greater risk, I'll carry a G19 or G26 with extra magazines. As others have said, it is always best to avoid known problems, if possible.

Didn't mean to make it sound like I would be shot by the police just because they saw a gun on me, but during a riot, they have enough to make them jumpy, so why add to that and possibly get mistaken for a threat.
