Has anyone else noticed how easy it is to start bleeding from everyday scrapes as you go about the normal work around the house?
I seem to bleed like a stuck pig from screwdriver jabs, cuts from plastic, etc.
I never noticed that in my younger days or else I just ignored it.
I think my skin gets wimpy as I age

Yep, I call it old man skin. My skin has gotten thinner and more easily damaged in the last 5 years or so and I can cut or scrape it easily nowadays. I was trimming tree branches Friday and Saturday and my arms look like I've been in a fight.

My wife was complimenting my dinner rolls the other night and said she liked “ Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside”.
I said that’s why she liked me.
I must have it backwards

Not the same!

I learned long ago to always keep Superglue handy to stop bleeding. It works every time. Hospitals use it under the label Nu Skin.

Hey Rusty...Nu Skin is NOT the same as Superglue...Nu Skin contains an "ether like" drying agent so the bandage dries and becomes affixed over the wound...

Another item you can use to stop bleeding is styptic powder...

I spoke to my doctor about this last year. After some mechanical work on a friend's grand daughter's car, my arms looked like I had stuck them in a threshing machine. The doctor recommended vitamin D and E. She said that our skin breaks down due to exposure to the sun as we age. She also said that the baby aspirin many people are on also aids in blood flow, even if said flow is from a wound. I believe she is right about the sun, because places where I haven't been as exposed over the years as my arms have don't have these tendencies or at least are less prone.

Dang I am glad someone else brought this up. My wife continuously asks me "How did you cut yourself" and I tell her I did not realize I even did it.
My grandsons cringe when they see me after working on the scrubs. I tell them there is nothing wrong with blood and sweat!!
Seriously, I do not take any medicine that is a blood thinner and I am more concerned to no pain associated with it.

It's part of the aging process and some medications will make it worse.

There are some topical ointments that will help delay the onset and prevent some of the damage.

I don't know much about it. My skin seems to leak blood more easily these days, but I thought it was because I wasn't keeping my hands callused. I use gloves for almost all kinds of work except handling guns. FWIW, I take no blood thinners.

From the other posts, it sounds like old age. No problem, gloves are cheap.

Blood thinners for life now since 2013. Mechanical heart valve. Yes bloody real real quick.
