Matt Dillion is shot! Twice!

I’m watching the very first Gunsmoke and Marshal Dillon is on the ground, shot twice in a gunfight.
The shooter just killed the sheriff in another gunfight 30seconds before.
He’s good!
Commercial is over. He survived
Good thing for the show’s sake.
Checked the credits and it says John Wayne was a guest star but I tuned in late and never saw him.

Not going blind just fires as soon as he clears leather so not accurate at any distance. He tried getting close to Matt but Matt would backup finally he went for his gun missed Matt and Matt put one in the ten ring from about 40 feet away

You people have destroyed my adoration of the Marshal. I don’t remember him being shot so often. That may be due to what my wife refers to as “ early onset”.
I still haven’t figured out what she means by that.

killed about 300 bad guys during the run of Gunsmoke.
