Mannix tv show

I have a thought. Was it too much smoking back when it originally aired, or too much smoking now in the woke era . . . ?

Been watching season 1 of Mannix and took a great trip down memory lane and yesteryear.
I always thought it was a very good show....too much smoking but still a decent show.

Anyone else have a thought or opinion?

Randy

It was common place then.....both of my parents were heavy smokers...I choose not.

Just MY observation...I'm still going to continue watching!

I try really hard to not evaluate past events by today's playbook . . .

Well said, Muss. Nor is it fair to do so. We have erased enough history.

As for Mannix, it's on my late night agenda if I stay awake long enough. I had to laugh the other night watching Mannix get beat up. Does he get beaten on every episode?

I watch when I can't sleep. I like shows from the 60's and 70s and enjoy seeing what was pop culture, then. I even saw Neil Diamond and Buffalo Springfield playing in a couple of episodes! That was cool!

Yes, a lot of cigarette smoking.

And a lot of the character actors
in movies and TV series died by
ages 40s to early 60 from heart
and respiratory diseases.

One of the things I really enjoyed was the theme song.....not many are in a fast 3/4 ( essentially in a fast One).

One of the snappiest of them all in my book.

Seeing seasons 7-8 on YouTube.

Mike Connors died of leukemia about 3 years ago. The secretary is also gone. Gail Fisher?

Most actors in those old shows are dead, but the shows remain good.

I love that era of music!!!

Its on early AM on MeTV. I watch it every morning with my first cigarette of the day.

And by the way if anyone is interested, smoker Mike Connors: Born August 15, 1925 – Died January 26, 2017, that's not a bad run in my opinion.

Great show and cool car.

It was definitely a cool car show. I am not even a car guy, but enjoyed seeing his cars. I watch Mannix a lot since I can't sleep lately. It comes on at 2am on METV. While watching lately, I saw a car I could not identify. It was an Oldsmobile Tornado Roadster. To me, it was really COOL! Anybody here ever have one? I found this online.
