I'd have to go with a 4 inch 686. Not really even a tough choice for me.
I would say, in order, the 19 and the 586, the latter with a six inch bbl. I own neither, but since own several 66's of varying barrel lengths, I'd take a 586 first . . .

Add another vote for the 2 ½" model 19/66's. They are small and light enough to carry to work daily, which I often did, but both feel like a Real gun in your hand. Neither was really intended to handle a bunch of full tilt ,357 Magnum ammo. But how much flame thrower ammo does any Sane person shoot through any K frame anyway?

The s&w m27-2 and the s&w m28 with 6" barrels tare sweet too but how do they compare to the ruger Redhawk 357/5.5" barrel?
Grip wise I give the edge to the colt python andvs&w n frames. I wish the Redhawk hadca larger orginal grip.

I'm a new guy but decades old with s&w. The k22/k38's are nice too. But 38 special. I think the n frame in 357.?

Well, maybe not the finest when compared to a Registered Magnum or Triple Lock, but let's see:
- A powerful enough cartridge for anything two legged and up to a Grizzly for four legged. Check
-Stainless for ease of maintenance. Check
-The L Frame is not as big and heavy as an N Frame, but big and strong enough in critical areas to address the issues that K Frames have with sustained use of Magnum loads. Check
- No adjustable sights to get out of whack, but still very usable compared to many fixed sighted guns. Check

I'm goin'n (as usual) with my trusty M65:
Don't own one but...Registered Magnum? Hand fitted, old world craftsmanship. Beautiful in every way.
P.S. I'm an L frame fan from the beginning.
