I recently Decided to get another .45acp but found they, as well as that ammo are not in great supply in lots of places. I have always been interested in the 10mm. I decided to go with it. The ammo is plentiful in most all configurations. Not cheap by any definition of the word but I don't do as much range shooting as I once did. I easily found a tidy supply of 180grn fmj and some hollow points for personal defense.

I'm not sure why the 10mm isn't more popular but it has worked out well for me.

Congrats!
I don't have a 10mm yet, but hope to eventually. I've shot a few and love the round.
I'd pick it over a .40S&W every time!
From what I've read, the 10mm was intended for police, but too many thought the recoil was excessive. So the .40S&W was the compromise.

The ten is a great round for handloaders. Factory ammo is expensive but you can load it from mild to wild for cheap. Biggest expense might be brass is you shoot in the wilds. My Delta Elite throws brass about 20' and it can get lost in the weeds. Also, study up. The colt is a great gun but will Glock your brass duck e to an unsupported chamber. I carry hot loads in it as that was what it was meant for but if I had to use it, I probably wouldn't be policing my brass. And I download a little bit for the range

If you're looking for 45 , try Georgia Arms . It;s remanufactured , but high quality . Between my brother and I we've been shooting it for 30 years and no problems , and I shoot a lot of 45 . They usually carry 10mm , they may have some now .

I'm waiting until glock comes out with Gen 5 Model 20s and then I'll buy one. But yes, I want one bad!

So, what did you buy?

I've had a 10mm in my safe since the early 1990's, love the round. Sort of like having a .357 semiauto, but more, and less. My first was a 2nd gen G20, loved the caliber, not so much the Glock; I kept it many years, selling it last year and buying a Ruger SR1911 in 10mm. Love the gun, goes well with my .45 and 9mm 1911's. As a reloader, I have little problem (except for primers, now) finding as much ammo as I need. I prefer the middleweight bullets at higher velocities (155 or 180 grain), and since I also have a .40S&W, can use the same bullets when loading for it.

I got the gen 4 G20-SF. It's a great gun.
