I am guessing that the parachute in question was a reserve. Or at least I hope so.

In my younger, leaner, days, I engaged in some sport jumping for a short time. I met the gal who caught my eye, and she told me that she wasn't going to come out to the jump zone, and she wasn't going to wait at home for a telephone call. I sold up and never jumped again.

So are you still married to her. I would still have the chute myself.

I have never given my wife an ultimatum and will not agree to one myself.

Maybe the add was not poorly written

Sometimes things do go wrong.

I friend who worked for the classified department of a newspaper once told me those kind of ads were used to sell 'want ad space'. The phone numbers led back to the ad sales department. I have no idea if his story was fact. I have seen the chute ad in 'Trade a Plane' years ago. I think it is just filler.
