If there's one thing that torques my wife off , it's those annoying phone calls . You know the ones , they come up with a name in the caller ID , but you know it's someone scamming the phone# . Last night we got one , and she was already in a bad mood . It came up James Worthy and she answered it , Hello James , long time no see . How's Mary doing ? Are the kids doing good being schooled at home ?

All you heard was dead air , followed by the click of the other phone being hung up . The funny thing is , it got her to laughing and the bad mood was gone .

I actually had a call come in a few days ago where the name was "Probable Spam". I did not answer. Been a lot of spam calls for the last few days; not sure why.

I just bought a new phone system where the caller must dial 1 in order to complete the call. Friends had a hard time at first but they worked it out. Now there are very few scam calls.

I use them as a form of entertainment and keep them wasting time. They hang up on me instead of the other way around. Word must get around as I am getting very few anymore. Acting really gullible, then giving stupid answers, then getting cautious, or making statements about their spouses sexual activities. Asking about the weather in Pakistan, Iam not in Pakistan, I am in Chicago, hey so am I lets meet for lunch. What, your to good to eat with me? LMAO

I've been waiting for a phone that prompts for an input to screen out the robocallers - what's the make & model of the phone. Thank you!!!

I have been getting a lot of SPAM calls or calls from all over the country from people who I have never heard of ... I just let the answer machine take the call. I thought the 'NO CALL REGISTRY' is suppose to stop these calls? In some cases, I just pick up and hang up -- in 1 motion.

Karen git three calls today on her cell phone from overseas numbers. Two from Uganda. One just rang and rang to the point she had to cancel it. Would have gone right to her voicemail but no message left.

I live to (mess) with people, when I'm in the mood. They want to give me cash for my house, any condition; my warranty on my car is coming to an end, one is 10 months old, the other one is two years old, the daughter's car warranty ran out years ago! I ask the guys out on dates, the women I ask if I can date their pets. But, any more, the answering machine gets to talk to them and they hang up. Do not call list doesn't work.

HIYA is a decent free anti phone spam application for smart phones.
Takes a couple of weeks for it to learn up but it has worked well for me.
I also don't answer calls that are not in my contact list and I block them afterwards.
Landline: just let answering machine take it.

The Bombay branch of the IRS sent the Sheriff orders for my arrest for failure to send rupees owed for back taxes- about 1000 times. lol...

Got tired of waiting for them to show up at the rude hut.

Finally.. The next call

Oh please don't do that! hold on a second please- stuck the phone in the toilet flushed it.. lol

The Bombay IRS called me back a lot after that- calling me all kinds of names in english and hindu on the answer machine ... lol

Here's one I can never figure out. I answer my phone, and I can tell by their response that my voice isn't the one they expect to hear. They ask, "Who is this?" I respond, "Who are you?" Them (annoyed or suspicious): "I'm asking YOU who you are." Me: "Well, you're calling me, so unless you tell me who you are I'm not telling you who I am." There's usual a long pause before the person hangs up.

These always just seem to be somebody getting a wrong number. Whatever happened to just asking, "Is Jane there?" Which reminds me of a scene with Danny DeVito in "Ruthless People" that I can't describe here without getting dinged.

Truth in caller ID! The past few days we've been received calls with the caller ID being, "SPAM CALL". At least they give you a reason not the answer the phone.
