We have ALL been though a lot this last year. Can we take a step back before we jump on each other? I apologize right here and now for my actions. How about we lighten up on each other about out dated terms, or the wrong term.... say 45 long colt or lord forbid clip instead of magazine:eek:.
God Bless

I always say ".45 Long Colt" because that's what I'm used to seeing printed on ammo boxes and firearms these days. Folks can argue all they want that it's inaccurate nomenclature, but it has been around since the very beginning as a means to differentiate it from .45 Schofield (aka .45 S&W) which was a shorter cartridge, then later .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, and we all know that nobody here is shy about use of informal speech with all the regional slang that get casually thrown around on these forums, so I just ignore the hypocrites who complain about less-than-perfect nomenclature when it comes to firearms.

I reckon you're talking about bullet heads and knifes. I don't have a dog in that fight, so I'll leave it alone; won't even mention it.

This past years has for many folks been difficult. The impact has been seen in a number of areas, especially social interactions. To be less inflammatory in posts/responses would lower the temperature here at the S-W forum as well as in our homes, work places, etc. I will do my part to lower the temperature. Sincerely. bruce.

It will never happen, but not celebrating job loss, financial ruin, highways collapsing, floods, famine and locusts because of the state it happens in would be a refreshing change. Its fun to dream.

So far I have refrained from complaining about their, there, and they're and will contine to do so.

Their people here and they're that use these terms wrong.

There just ignorant people who don't know there native language and probably slept through they're English classes back in there high schools.

Their is no way I'd make the same mistakes there making.

Unfortunately there are always those that seem to inhabit forums known as the "word police" that seem to think it not only their right but their duty to enforce on others their views. If things are not stated in terms acceptable in their nomenclature they bash the poster over semantics over making constructive posts. They are a fact of life on all type of forums.

Good post and yes some of us misteak are grammer as we flood of consiousness with r thoughts.

The forum has been an interesting ride at least for me. The community interaction has been an incredible learning experience. I've met some amazing people here. The interesting thing is even though some of us blue, red, green, young, old or other we all find commonality here. Even with divided ideals we can resonate. Maybe a better way of putting it - an addict stops using when they realize sobriety is better than the drug.

The last year has been a rollercoaster. Hopefully we are near the end of the ride. I was out yesterday on Valentines Day. So many we acting like jackasses, I had to come home in order to escape the crazy. Some people have a hard time controlling themselves.

When we have commonality we find tolerance and we even the most extreme can find peace and acceptable others may have a different point of view. We can agree to disagree and perhaps learn by listening. Maybe I am an optometrist (optimist), but I can hope. I have faith there is the best and good in all of us.

Its obvious that the treatment you received on another now locked thread is what prompted the creation of this thread. The pummeling you received on that thread was a bit much, even for this group! My favorite was the beating a dead horse reference...when in reality everything here has been covered Ad Naseum. To truly understand the reaction you received to your thread, look up the work Clique. Not to mention your from California, so your at a disadvantage from the get go.
