Daily Flashlight Carry - What you got?

All 4 are Streamlites 250 lumen w/2 123Lithium, rechargeable 500 and 1000 lumens, and 2100 lumen with 2 18650 rechargeables or 3 123 liths. I just grab one for whatever is the task at hand. The 1000 and 2100 lums have low settings and strobe.

2,100 wow. Does that run hot?

Nebo "Big Larry"

Undoubtedly the most useful flashlight I've ever owned for routine use. Small enough to put in your mouth, has a magnet on the butt end, and has two power settings (Hi - Low). It's not so good for a "tactical" light but it's great as a "work" light and will easily illuminate an entire room.

You can use the magnet to stick it to the side of your car when you need to change a tire in the dark, or stick it to the inside of your hood when working on your motor. Plus since the light is directed 90 degrees to the side that the barrel is pointing it is great for illuminating under and around things.

I didn't notice any excessive heat. The lens is actually a solid block of plastic that probably takes heat away to an extent. The surface is frosted and spreads the light out without any focus. The focused beam of the 1000 looks brighter in the middle. Also the 500 and 1000 do produce a good amount of heat.

Nebo "Big Larry"...
I had one of those for a year or so and found it really handy, but unfortunately not very durable and I chucked it after it became unreliable.

I subsequently got a Fenix LD15R:

but wouldn't you know it- it disappeared "somewhere." Wherever that might be, I'm sure it's still there :(

As to the big lights running hot, they will after being on for a while (depending on outside temp. of course; in some areas right now, not likely!) In some cases they have a thermal cut-out to prevent overheating and will step down to the next level. But in my experience I've rarely used mine at full tilt for very long and not had a problem.

The Olight Perun Mini is on my radar. Small, right-angle light that can be clipped to a shirt or hat, 1,000 lumens max output with a 100m throw.

Had to think about that for a bit. I think I have eight. Three Surefires, a Fenix, a 4Sevens, a Nitecore, an Olight keychain light, and a small micro-flashlight that came with something else but haven't used (just went looking for it but couldn't find it...came in a nice little presentation box).

I had a little Streamlight keychain light, but stopped using it when the key ring mount broke; I might still have it somewhere. If I still have it and it still works, I guess that could be nine. Might be a bit of a stretch, but I have a Benchmade Houdini folder with a little integral LED light that I keep in the car, and a Benchmade Houdini keychain with a light that I stopped carrying when its key ring mount broke, but I think the light still worked. Those might be ten and eleven. I had a Nitecore keychain light, but it recently stopped working.

So, pretty sure about eight, maybe up to eleven. Unless I'm forgetting some. *shrug*

Edit: Also keep in mind that I started buying these lights back in the 90s, I believe when Surefire only offered their P- and R-series lights (my first was their 6R, converted to 6P). So it's not like I'm binge-buying lights.

I bought my first EDC light a few months ago, an Olight S1R Baton II. I love everything about it except the proprietary charging method. I ordered a ThruNite T1 after (temporarily) misplacing the Olight. I like it almost as well as the Olight.

I'm a fan of the Sofirn SC31Pro and have a 18350 tube and magnetic tail cap on the way. I'll try it for EDC once the parts get here.

I don't know what you're trying to say. I'm not addicted to flashlights. I can stop buying them anytime. ANYTIME, I SAY!!!

Asked a guy at Wal-Mart what he suggested I buy, and he recommended this $14 LED model.

Liked it so much I clamped a scope ring on it and attached it to my little KSA Crickett.

Then I got another for the garage.

Takes 3 common AAA batteries.

...um no that's not my home defense gun.
