Alert - Congress Considering S.42 & H.R. 1446

Time to contact your U.S. Representatives and Senators and make your voice heard.

S.42 basically makes it a crime to transfer a firearm, unless a background check is done through an FFL holder. Federal gun registration will inevitably go with it.

As I understand it, H.R. 1446 eliminates the 3 days that the FBI currently has to perform a background check. If passed, they’ll have an indefinite amount of time to delay a purchase.

These are serious threats to our 2A rights. I’m surprised no one has posted this yet!

You still have to let them know your stand on 2A. I've seen it here in Virginia where the Dems cave to pressure.

Likewise here in my part of MI. The district includes several uber-liberal cities that keep the current Representative in office. And as for our senators...

Washington State already has background checks on all purchases and transfers, with a narrow list of exemptions. WE already have a waiting period on handguns and "assault rifles" Our idiots here consider a Ruger 10/22 an assault rifle.

Fight tooth and nail, because those writing the laws are ignorant, and most voters are ignorant as well. The only solution is to stop it from being voted in.

My representative and Senators have pushed for more gun control, but I contacted them anyway. I did it by phone and through the NRA-ILA link. I actually received a phone call from my Rep’s office after I left the message opposing these bills. Talk is cheap, but I’m sure they all want to keep their jobs. I’m also sure they know that in the mid-term election after the passage of the “Assault Weapons Ban”, their side lost both houses of Congress.

I don’t expect my Rep or my Senators to vote against the bills, but they might just pull a no-show or abstain from the vote with enough pressure. As I said before, a handful of votes in the House and/or one in the Senate could be the difference.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on Thursday vowed that the Senate would vote on the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021, which passed the House Thursday in a 227-203 vote.

Under the current congressional make up, all such bills will pass the house and fail in the senate. Writing your congressmen and senators will not change that. Next time you VOTE, vote for 2A supporters or eventually all such similar gun laws will eventually get adopted.

You know Chad, that NOT all of us are stuck on THAT ONE side of the "Right to Bear Arms" debate. Some of us, while on the "other side", STILL LOVE our 2nd Amendment Rights as well.

And besides, aren't the Moderators supposed to enforce the NO POLITICS rules of this forum?

Please make a note of it. Seriously. We are supposed to be able to live together in the same World. Just saying...
