Hey all.

How about a picture thread of what your favorite 3-inch S&W is?

If you don't have a pic, no problem, just tell about your faves.

I only own 1, the 65. So I guess that's mine.

3 1/2" and such counts too. They don't have to be exactly 3 inches.

Have a good weekend.

I'm not a huge fan of 3" revolvers but they have their place. A friend of mine just acquired a M36-1 3" with a HB and it's a neat gun but I think that barrel takes away from the concealability that you want in a M36.

Anyway, I only have one as well but in the L frame I really like it - M686+:

I only have a 3 "and it is a 64-5 heavy barrel, I bought it new about 30 years ago, the first time I took it to the shooting club I could not believe the precision of the gun and it is today that it continues to amaze me, sorry for not post photos but i don't know how

At least we know where to start looking for one! I have only a model 64 3". Honestly it's perfect for me as I love it and .38 +p is one of my favorite rounds! Not saying I'd kick a 66, 65 or 13 out of the bedroom!

Only owned two S&W's that would qualify. A flat latch 3 inch model 36 that I carried as a back up when a uniform LEO, since sold, and a 2 3/4 model 69 that gets a lot of woods use, and has somewhat changed my mind about short barreled magnums.

I have 3 of those little suckers. I have a 3" 66-2, a 3" 686 CS-1 and a 3" 696 no dash. I love them all. The three inch makes a lot of sense for the longer sight radius, the increased barrel length for a bit more muzzle velocity and most of all, the longer ejector rod to eject the spent cases, especially with .357 cases.

I bought one of those Police surplus M10-5 .38 Special 3" bbl. revolvers a few years ago and it seems to be the ideal size for a medium frame defense revolver.

Like many, I have a warm spot for 3" revolvers.

Asking for a favorite is just not fair! :D

The one that gets the most range time... 625-3 45 ACP...

The one that gets CCW duty the most... 13-3 357 Mag...

The one that always seems to impress folks at the range... 24-3 44 Special...

If I think bears are in the area... 657 41 Magnum...

But my most "Unique" S&W is really a 3.25" - as far I can tell, it might be a true "One of a kind"...

It letters to being shipped on July 17th 1908 to Troy Hatfield.

Here is the original forum post when the letter came in...
S&W Letter for my 32 HE came in...

I also have a S&W 65-5 3" Lady Smith, and a S&W 27 ND 3.5" on the way.

Still no favorites - just a lot of smiles!

Cheers,
Bob S.
