Ovaltine??

My feedback on why Ovaltine prices (and everything else in the current market) have probably gone up are better left unsaid.

Never liked Ovaltine. Couldn't get it to dissolve in milk. Nestle's Quick mixed great.

Today, I drink chocolate bliss ON Gold Standard 100% Isolate in my milk. YUM! And good for you, too.

Quick was to get you to drink your milk. Now, milk is just there to carry your whey protein.

Eh??? Maybe they've changed the formula since those bygone days as I find it dissolves pretty easily.

Now if you want a REAL challenge, try Fry's Cocoa  If you think "oil and water don't mix", this will be a close second. However, I'd argue that on a cold, wet day, it's worth the effort.

Every now and then I have a "Tut Special". Put a little tap water in a glass, dissolve the Ovaltine in that then add milk and stir.

Well, my Latin's pretty rusty as it's been 50+ years. But I do recall that allegedly the Romans had something called a vomitorium, so I'm probably not far out.

Reminded me of my younger days when the family was all sitting
around the dinner table and my mom would ask my dad, "how's
dinner?"

Dad would either reply "the ketchup is really good tonight" or "I
was going to throw-up ant way". LOL

Mom never thought it was as funny as us kids did. :D

In New Jersey, we had Bosco. It was just like Hershey's, you could make chocolate milk, use it on ice cream, sneak a taste from the fridge when the folks were watching Bonanza.

I always had Quick growing up, occasionally strawberry never had the banana.
Hershey's Syrup was a treat but the can didn't reseal so you had to use it pretty fast. Making hot chocolate with the syrup and heating the milk on the stove was a real treat as a kid. Even on ice cream, it was great, ice cream was a treat too.

The stores had Bosco, we didn't buy it. U-Bet was another we had once...

That malted milk powder wasn't too bad, hadn't thought of that in years.

However, no Ovaltine in our house but we did have the red plastic Captain Midnight mugs...
