South Carolina Constitutional Carry Bill

Apparently some sort of CC bill is moving through the SC legislature. I understand that it has passed the House and has now been sent to the Senate.

I read through it, but there are a couple of questions that I couldn't find an answer to. If someone from the area has been following this and can comment, I'd appreciate it.

1) Does this bill apply only to Open Carry without a permit. Or does it remove licensing requirements for both Concealed and Open Carry?

2) Does it apply only to SC residents or everyone?

I ask that question because Wyoming (I think) limits Constitutional Carry to residents.

I understand that Wyoming limits the right. Most of the other States with Constitutional Carry walk the walk, not fake Conservatism.

Kansas is a constitutional carry state, no permits required for any type of carry.

I just read through it, and cant find any mention of non residents. If I recall, SC only issues carry permits to non residents that are also property owners, so hard to say what the proposed law would do. Does this add a restriction for carrying in day cares and churches? Looks that way. If it aint open to everyone, it aint constitutional carry...just a baby step.

Kansas is a constitutional carry state, no permits required for any type of carry.

Same here in Oklahoma.
Residents and non residents alike can carry concealed or open.
Must be 21 years old or 18 if in military and be able to legally own a firearm.

Az for years has been , no permits necessary to conceal carry or open carry . Regards Paul

I think there are two Bills. One is for OC and the other is for CC. Both of them passed the House. The Senate Republicans are going for the whole ball of wax, CC.

The South Carolina House has approved a so-called constitutional carry bill that would let state residents carry guns openly without a permit. Lawmakers voted 69-47 in favor of the bill Wednesday.

Looks like it is residents only. Maybe open carry only, too.

That would make sense from their standpoint. Yes, for a non resident permit you need to own property. They only recognize permits from contiguous states IIRC.

I have taken the class and have the paperwork. I just need find a suitable piece of property.
