I have been looking at the 327PC on the old forum posts and am actually interested in this as a carry revolver due to the 8rd capacity and the scandium light weight frame. I have been carrying a J frame in some form or another for a long time and am considering jumping up to this 8rnd gun if I can find one to hold and the price is right. I see that the owners either love them or hate them for one reason or another.

I would like to hear from any of the owners of this gun on here that have had one and what you STILL think about it and do you actually carry it as a ccw or is it too big in your opinion. I cannot find one in my area to save my life to even put one in my hands to see how I would like it. It seems they are still listed on S&W website but there are none anywhere that I can find unless I want to buy one off of the gun sites at an extremely high price. Wish there was someone in the southwest Ohio area that had one I could look at, hold and just see it in person. Until then, your opinions will help me decide.

And before someone says to get an all stainless gun, I do not want that kind of weight in a revolver for a aiwb carry gun, if I am going to jump up to an all stainless weighted gun, I would just opt for my duty gun at that point. Thanks in advanced guys.

I bought a 327 in December and have shot it a lot. I found a holster and 5 Star has a speed loader for it. I wear a large long tailed over shirt so concealment should not be an issue.
The Altamont grips did not fit the frame, extended back enough to pinch my hand I am using Hogue grip for now.

I've had mine for over 3 years now and it stays in my carry rotation. I use a iwb holster from kaos concealment , VZ stocks, I carry 1 or 2 eight round speed strips. The only thing I am missing its a new tritium front sight.

I will add this is one gun that I can carry all thr time and any way I want. I can carry it in a pocket holster in cargo pants, iwb, own. I also throw it in my backpack when hiking and use my 340pd in my pocket. I carry several other guns and this one is the most versatile in terms of carry for me.

I carry mine quite frequently. It def ain’t no j-frame but it’s light for sure. +1 on the Kaos holster. I’m also really happy with the Apex hammer I installed. Snag free.

The 327 with 4" barrel is just a tad larger that I want to CCW. It's rare to see the shorty 2" version on the market locally. If I could find/shoot one.....

this is a neat one of a kind carry piece, i would love to see and shoot that gun. great job on that n frame carry combo sir...

I can't vouch for this but I did buy one a couple of months ago and then I ended up having to have shoulder surgery so I haven't had the chance to even shoot it. Nice thread I will definitely look into the Kaos holster. I also wanted a very light snubby that wasn't a J frame.

I was considering the night guard for daily concealment and had a fruitless search for a IWB holster for it. Seems the kaos one will work for the shorter barrel 327 pc.

"The 327 with 4" barrel is.." Is there such a thing as a S&W, NO lock, 4", J frame in .327 Federal Magnum? What Model should I be looking to acquire? I'm about ready to dump my SP 101.

How does the apex kit compare to stock? What made you decide to go DA only? Pros/cons?

I have the Model 327 PC 2" 357/38. Bought it last year used and sight unseen.

I did have to send it back to S&W for a little work. It was light striking.

It is now a fantastic and trusted self defense gun. I pocket carry it almost every day in cargo pants.

It is definitely not a safe queen but not a range toy either. It is meant for serious social work.

It has a fantastic trigger with Hogue Bantam rubber grips will handle the strongest of 357 Magnum loads. I find it more accurate than even my 627 4" within 15 yds.

@studenygreg: This configuration isn’t exactly DAO as the SA sear still exists and can be cocked as such if required.

I chose this modification because when carried IWB the hammer spur was very low by my belt line and those N Frame spurs are quite large. As you know those Kaos holsters require a pretty aggressive draw and for me it was snagging often. It was also digging into my side when driving seat belted. Both of these issues have been eliminated.

I would say the trigger is not as light as a stock 327 but it is close and very smooth. I swapped to a standard Wolfe power rib for more reliable ignition and it pairs well with the lighter hammer. Strain screw fully seated and lock tite keeps it all in place.

I too am looking into a Tritium front sight and may also install a plug when I get a chance to open it back up.

When you find a tritium sight for it please share. I've been looking.

I have exchanged some emails with the folks at ToolTech Gunsights and sent them some pictures of the 327 front sight. They said they could insert a Trijicon lamp with white outline circle. The plan is to purchase a replacement sight from S&W to send to them for the work and retain the stock sight just in case. When I get this done I’ll def share some photos and my experience with the forum.

Eagle1*,

I mis-spoke. It has Pachmayr rubber grip. Works great on it.

Sorry!
