Ah, the good old days in NYC, when pistol dueling (wax bullets) was a competitive sport, performed on the roof of the NY Athletic Club.

The Marine Corp continues their shopping spree to reinvent it's mission profile. This time they are buying loitering munitions from Israel. The HERO-120 is a kamikaze drone which can loiter as far as 30 miles away for up to an hour, before attacking with anti-armor capabilities.

Just a couple of pictures and short videos from my ride today.

This road, that's turning into a narrow trail was named the
Bonanza Jones Road by the guy who cut it in with a dozer
back in the late 50s.

This is private property so its seldom if ever ridden. I'd just about
be willing to bet I was the last one here and that was 2 years ago
2 days ago. June 23, 2019.

A close friend is the care taker for the property and that's how I have
access to it.

This property is the Kimberly Mine property, a big town and gold
mine in its time.

A link to its history if you're interested.

This is all that remains of the original mill at the base of the Annie Laurel Mine.

This mill was built prior to the collapse of the original mill and was still in operation until the early 90s.

Its just about the only building that is still standing.

Decided to bring him in after this as we're at the beginning of a serious heat wave here in the Pac. NW.

(NO SNICKERING, you folks in regular hot climates! This is unprecedented around here. The hottest I remember recently was 95º in July 2015, which is on the hot side of "somewhat hotter than normal", but we also had a lot of haze from wildfires in the interior which made things really uncomfortable. Thank heavens the wildfires are mininal so far.)
