My range buddy and a couple of friends went out yesterday . We went to lunch at a local German spot , great food , and then headed towards a gun/pawn shop my buddy visited 2 weeks ago . He had sent me videos , I couldn't believe it . It's a large place , and there were guns everywhere , even hanging from the ceiling .

Of course I went straight to the S&W area . I have never seen a store with so many older S&W's . They went from top breaks in .44-40 to 17's , 18's , 65's , k38's and on and on . I'm going back by myself , or with my buddy when we have several hours to spend . He gravitated towards a k38 in 98%+ condition with the box .

I went up to the grips and mag area . Staring me in the face was a 6900 series mag in the old blue and white package , that's one . I also picked up a 4006 and a 3913 mag . To top it off , a 59 extended , 20 round mag . This place is like heaven !

Anyways , needless to say , we are going back again , and again..... If any of you live in CenFl and are interested , PM me . I will be happy to pass on the name and where it is .

Outstanding! Makes me wish I was a bit closer than 3000 miles away. I always gravitate towards the "grips and clips" area while others crowd the glass display cases. Sometimes you find some treasures mixed in with the Goodyears and only-used-once Promags.

Some years ago I was going through several grip boxes at a local place and found a set of N frame football targets in great shape. The clerk said "$10 plus tax", which nearly caused a shoulder injury in whipping out my wallet. Seeing all I had inside was a ten, he said "OK, $9 plus tax". Hmmm, I think I'm overdue for a return visit.

That's a once in a life time deal . Not quite there with the RM in a pawn shop , but still pretty da** good .

I always read here about you guys and your deals and now I can count myself among you .

That should be AAA Gun & Pawn Shop in Deland. Quite a place, if they don't have it, it probably does not exist. They use to advertise 5,000+ guns in stock. We would drive up there and start looking at gun shops from there south to Orlando. Would stop at Jeremiah's in Mt. Dora for lunch.

That's it AJ . I think it might be more than 5000 . You read about places like this , but this is a first for me .

Thought so. There is one in Pa. that advertises 10,000 guns in stock. We will make it there one day.

Seriously, try Jeremiah's in Mt. Dora for a lunch or dinner stop. You will not be disappointed.

Bookmarked the place. Not too far off I4. Occassionally go to Florida for the automotive Daytona Turkey Rod Run. Also run down I4 to Tampa for Busch Gardens. My daughter lives near Tampa towards the gulf coast. If/when I go I'll report.

Other then some odds and ends, we never buy from there. They are right PROUD of their stuff. Usually A $100 or more than I can buy it elsewhere.

Though if they have not raised their prices, they may be more in line with som other places are selling for.

Where in PA is this place located?

That could be downright dangerous to my bank accounts LOL.

Have seen the signs for it when visiting a friend that lives in Meadville. We see the signs down around I-80. Will ask him where it is, if you want.

One LGS has over 5000 guns in stock.

Another LGS has over 10000 guns in stock.

Their prices are reported as "high".

Maybe that's why they have so much inventory?

John?

AAA, like Jerry's in Ocala, Pat's Pawn and Gun in Leesburg, Southern Oaks Gun and Pawn Orlando and about 50 others (My pharma territory was Ocala-Lakeland and points east) have sadly "gone retail+". With all the new interest in firearms they are pricing what the trade will bear. Forget about that $299 Model 27 or just add a zero to the price. Good hunting Mike. Joe

This thread reminds me of a pawn shop we had in Des Moines. It was in a very large building not usually associated with pawn shops. He had few if any guns I was interested in but his prices were unreal. He rarely sold anything other than cheap old shotguns. The business closed some years ago but I never heard where the inventory went.

Most pawn shops will dicker.

That's a pretty good drive from my neck of Penn's Woods.

But thank you.

My friend says it is about 4 hours from his house in Meadville. We are use to driving that far as we use to drive to Port Clinton, Ohio to go to CMP's North Store every year (sort of a pilgrimage, I guess).
