Best way to carry more EDC ammo, is to carry it in the gun. So ditch the revolver, and get something like a G19 or M&P9c.
My G19 carries three times the load that the j frame has. Thugs nowadays tend to travel in packs, and there's always the possibility of an active shooter.
Your little revolver will run dry in seconds, and while you're fumbling with a "speed" loader or "speed" straps, you'll get killed.
Whereas my G19 will be laying down a steady stream of fire, with 17 more in the spare mag.
It's 2021. Let's arm ourselves for the times.
This actually isn't an answer. Even when carrying a double stack 9mm, I have a second magazine. That's because the magazine is the weakest link of the chain in semi-auto reliability. When you're standing there with a magazine-related stoppage, you better have a second mag to get the gun running again.
Also, studies show that the average gunfight for a civilian is three rounds. I know no one wants to rely on averages, but it's still significant enough to point out.
When I carry a J-frame, it's my 940. I carry two spare moon clips in my pocket. I never understood how fast a reload with moon clips are until I did it. It rivals a magazine reload with a semiauto.
