How about these?
Hey Guys,

Always been a big fan of Federal 9mm 147+p JHP, yet they are discontinued & the available boxes are going north of $145 plus shipping!!:rolleyes:
Found some Underwood 9mm Luger +P 147gr. JHP on Midway. My first time ever seeing these.
The spec sheet on these is impressive--- 1125 FPS & 413 Muzzle energy.
They also had some pretty stout looking 147 gr hardcast that has great reviews

Does anyone have experience with this ammo?
Looks like Nosler is involved with the production of these.

413 lb/ft isn't that big of a deal for 9mm. It's stout, but not astoundingly stout.

It's is more than formidable when viewed within the context of its combined 1125 FPS in a 9mm 147 gr...which normally motor along at FPS 850-950 range & muzzle energy of 315-330.
I'm not enamored with any of them.

I tried some of 147 +P hardcast in my Glock 43. I had 2 failures to feed out of a box of 20 despite the bullets being coated. That gun has been extremely reliable with every other type of ammo I have tried, including +P carry ammo. When they did feed the recoil was a little snappier than usual but not too bad.

I think the problem was the sharp edges on hard cast bullet, not the +P loading. I would give them a try but make sure they work in your dun before you buy a lot.

One could do what Bill Allard did when on the stakeout squad: Chamber the more effective hard to feed round and top up the magazine with other ammo that fed reliably. I would consider it under some circumstances.

This is hotter.

Yep. I imagine if you looked/ferreted through enough 147 ammo...you could find another round "hotter" than this.
Elite does not have the reputation of Federal or Underwood.
Supreme hotness was not the objective of my post.
It was to hear whether anyone here had ANY experience with the Underwood 9mm 147+P JHP!!
This is not nuclear fusion or hieroglyph translation...

Although the heavy 147 gr 9mm is good for SD use.........
I am still trying to figure out if I like it for target use.

Groups in my 3", 3.5" and full size 9mm pistols are all over the place
with the lighter or standard loads.

Carry on.

No reason to be a tool. I was expounding upon the post about these not being that hot. [emoji57]

Me being a tool is subjective, not objective. I was bringing an obviously needed clarity to a simple question by drawing a contrast between the simplistic and complex.
