Reacher series on Amazon Prime

Wife and I binge watched over 2 evenings. I've read most of the books and think this series stuck to the script. Liked it a lot. I wouldn't mind a Roscoe spin-off either. hubba hubba

Opening scene:: When Reacher got off the bus at the at the Crossroads I immediately thought is this where Robert Johnson sold his sold his soul to the Devil? Blind Blake is associated with Johnson.
The detective nailed to the wall was way to disgusting and not necessary to see for 5 seconds . I wonder if the Mexicans used a stud finder to get a fat tub like him to hang, or used Gorilla Glue. DE was ridiculous, was it .50AE? Poor Roscoe (but just my type)at maybe 105lbs. will be walking funny for a while.
O.K. series but I gotta start watching some lighter stuff.

OOPS!... Robert sold his soul in Mississippi.

I watched some scenes with the "new" Reacher. Kind of a dull personality. I don't know it he could hold my interest for long.

Well, we started in on the NEW Reacher series on Amazon Prime last night and it is really good. Reacher is tall and BIG, like the real character in Child's series. Not the little guy that needs a step stool to get a glass out of the cabinet.

Great TV so far. The only problem with the series is it's like a good bag of potato chips, you can't just watch one episode.

I'm a big fan of the Reacher books, have read most of them.

I was disappointed in Tom Cruise as the lead in the first movies. There were, however, some good scenes.

The bar/parking lot fight: "Remember, you asked for this."

The scene were Cruise is attacked in a bathtub by totally incompetent thugs is classic.

Line-Up

Amazon should post a down-loadable cast of Reacher characters with photos.

There are a lot of names to keep track of and a handy line-up kept near the remote would help.

Saw all the episodes. Liked all of them except for some over the top gore.

Right now I vote for a spin-off series called Roscoe Conklin that I would also consume in a two-day binge. Or maybe even one.

+1

Willa Fitzgerald was excellent, and carried more weight than she should have had to in the supporting role.

It's a shame that she won't be returning for another season, assuming the series sticks to the plotlines of the books where Reacher is a wanderer and deals with a completely different environment in each.

On Amazon video, if you hit "pause" on your remote, it should bring up the actors in that particular scene at the bottom of the screen with name/photo. IIRC, they call that feature "X-ray".

Alternatively, imdb.com has all the info you could ever desire: Reacher (TV Series 2022– ) - IMDb

It is funny to see what Hollywood thinks a town of 1700 looks like. I’ve lived in a town that size. You get a get a gas station on either end, a small grocery store, a Dollar General if you’re lucky, and the police department is usually two guys (if you even have a PD). More likely the Sheriff’s Office covers the town. Margrave looks like 20,000 or more.

I still like it though. Big Boy makes some big leaps of logic when he does his Sherlock Holmes thing.

The cabin is near Berlin Pa....pop 2100! LOL You must have lived there , cus you certainly gave an accurate description! Some nice 19th century houses.

40 years ago it had an active half mile long Main St. with an upper and lower diamond... with three banks. I think they are down to one officer in the Police Dept. Most small communities rely on the State Police.

I'm liking the series. Reacher at 6,5 is better than 5,6

Well, with some hesitation I invite you to check out "Peacemaker" on HBO Max. This is very much a no-filters superhero farce that is even more over the top than the Deadpool movies. With John Cena, who would also have made an excellent Jack Reacher. Who knew he was also a gifted deadpan comic?

Good thing I live alone, because I would not have wanted any witnesses to my uncontrolled laughter at some of the most NSFW dialog and comic bits I have ever heard or seen..

I love Peacemaker! He loves peace so much he doesn’t care how many women or children he kills to get it!

That opening dance sequence is worth the price of HBO Max alone!

A 95 grain 9mm is not sub sonic. It's very supersonic. Heavy-for-caliber bullets are subsonic. I liked the parts where the bad guys got worked over. I thought they deserved more than they got, usually.

I'm liking the Reacher series. Watched half the episodes over this weekend, and it's much closer to the book than any of the Cruise movies ever were. And a big thumbs-up to Peacemaker. A real hoot that is very entertaining and stupid-slapstick-laugh-out-loud.

It was good to see Bruce
McGill of Animal House
fame in it. Of course,
McGill is in three to four
pictures or TV shows
a year and has been
since the '80s.
