Let's have a little fun.

That got me to thinkin'. After 9-11 my wife and I moved from the Washington DC area to a small town tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia.
Was a bit of culture shock. People would wave and it wasn't with their middle finger. When you walked into a store in DC they'd say, "what you want!?" Out here it's "how y'all doin'?"
The radio station that came in the clearest was a country station.
I was never a fan of country music but my wife liked it and I gained an appreciation for it. I remember when that song came out.
I guess I've kinda gone country too.

One of my best friends chucked it all when he retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department nine years ago. He got out of a bad marriage...bought six acres of land on a mountain in the middle of West Virginia...built a beautiful home...and lives there in peace and solitude.

There's virtually no violent crime...the evening tv news is about good things instead of homicides...the folks in the area are down-to-earth and very friendly. When he sits on his deck in the early morning with a cup of coffee, he watches the deer stroll through his yard, and the only sounds he hears are the critters in the woods. John Denver was right...almost Heaven... :)

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU done by VINCE GILL AND DOLLY PARTON. That is how I feel about Dorothy. Her picture covers my computer screen and a picture sets by my TV. I never fail to look at or hold her picture and tell her I love you and will continue until I die.
It is on YOU TUBE but I don't know how to add it.

Definitely not country. It's at least the second this tune has applied in my lifetime.

I'll also put in another vote for "Never Say Die" by Sabbath.

We did have a crime wave here a few years ago. Kids were taking change out of peoples cars.

Trivia fun fact:

In terms of live performance, The Doors did not have a dedicated bass player. In concert, keyboardist Ray Manzarek held down the bottom end with his left hand (and right foot) on the Fender Rhodes. John Densmore played drums. Robby Krieger played guitar. Jim Morrison sang. That was it, and the guys have explained that the lack of a bass guitarist freed up sonic space and helped the group distinguish their sound from other late '60s bands.

Anytime I would drop a note on stage the keyboard player would look at me and mouth "Remember The Doors?"
