During the past few weeks I've shipped 3 handguns from my FFL that uses FedEx and all 3 have experienced delivery delays.
The latest one shipped a week ago today still has not been delivered to an FFL in Missouri where weather has not been a factor.
A small size USPS priority mail box shipped with 2 day priority mail took 11 days to get from Austin Texas to Saginaw MN.

My FFL used to ship with USPS but too my items disappeared so he switched to FEDEX.
His transfer fee is a very reasonable $20

I shipped a CCP M2 back to Walther for repair using a FedEx label they provided. It took 3 days to get from Scranton to Ft. Smith AR.

Apparently the pistol is not repairable. They are sending a new one to my LGS. We'll see how long that takes.

In the last week, I have gotten shipped to me one rifle, some clothes, some paperwork, some gun magazines, and a can of Pre-lim to try. All arrived on time or earlier with no problems. I guess I am a lucky guy.

Post office has been reliable for me recently. Fedex, though, is another story entirely. I'm currently waiting on an ammo delivery that has been delayed twice. First it was supposed to arrive Monday, then delayed until Tuesday. Last night when I hadn't received it I checked again. Delayed until today (maybe). It does say it's on Fedex vehicle for delivery today.

On the other end of the story my son wants a pistol red dot and mounting plate for his M&P for a birthday present in a few days. I ordered the mounting plate from EGW. It arrived promptly by postal service 3 days later. I found a great deal on a Vortex Viper at PSA and ordered it the same day as the mounting plate. PSA has charged my card, but still hasn't shipped the site a week later.

Last time I ordered a gun, my FFL told me to tell the seller, DO NOT SHIP BY USPS.

He said tracking showed problem (guns disappearing) was in the local PO.

I feel relieved today;the buyer got the 3" 629-4 Backpacker after 3 delays from fedex.
Maybe I shouldn't worry so much when the item is fully insured but....

I would guess the bad weather back east and in the midwest
probably had something to do with it. It would suck if your
FedEx, UPS, or USPS semi-tractor trailer slid off an icy road
and flipped over.

Since I have a 27-2 coming by UPS, I hope it goes just fine.

Edit: Looks like it made it to my LGS. Terrible wait. It was shipped yesterday.:)

UPDATE -

The replacement was shipped today, supposed to be in Honesdale Friday according to FedEx tracking.

That would be perfect, as I could pick it up Saturday AM and take it to the range to hope that this pistol is reliable.

Numerous shipments in the last month. All of the Fedex were late and all of the USPS were early.

The Fedex guy throws stuff on the porch and then runs away. The USPS girl waves to me every time she sees me.

Recently, very slow. USPS, I don't trust at all, UPS, less, and FedEx very sketchy. I swear most of their warehouse workers can't read English, and no, I'm not accusing them of being immigrants. I am accusing the various services of hiring poorly educated workers, who often can't read.
