During the 1960s and 1970s Tommy Freyburger and Russ Smith engraved a lot of Smith & Wesson revolvers. These two 27-2's show the talent and some of the style of the two engravers. The blued one was engraved by Tom Freyburger and shipped in June 1976. The nickel one was engraved by Russ Smith and shipped in April 1968:

I just liked the way the iPhone photos turned out, so I thought I'd share. I hope it makes you smile.:)

I'D LOVE TO SEE OTHER EXAMPLES OF FREYBURGER AND RJ SMITH ENGRAVED GUNS... please.:D:)

Thanks for letting me share,

I like that the very nice grips are unadorned and not competing for attention.

I checked my inventory and don't seem to have any engraved guns to show off. But I do have an electro-pencil somewhere and a little time to kill.

Very nice pair, was wondering of all the engraved guns you have, have any of them been fired before you got them,{ not counting factory fired} or do you only buy unfired only...................................M*

Great pair

Unfortunately, I do not know many of the names of the Masters that have chiseled on my firearms.

There is my old Model 27 that Russ Smith engraved that is now owned by one of our fellow Forum members, Mr. Kennelly.

There are some better shots of it in the engraving book, but I forget the page numbers

I have been told that my Model 45 looks like Tommy's style, but I do not have confirmation of that
