I have a 1903 5th change and a pre 30 shipped in 1953 that I'm in the process of loading.
I think the 32 S&W Long is a keeper. JMO

Yes and yes.
I enjoy the .32s and I can imagine a resurgence in smaller calibers arising from the .30SC, but I imagine 99% of shooters today have barely heard of .32SWL, let alone consider it a reasonable choice for carry or hunting.
I'm not saying it's not, just that it's generally unregarded.

The 32 S&W Long serves little to no purpose next to a 38spl.
A lot of old revolvers that can be found on the cheap are whats keeping it breathing.The 32S&W Long ammo is not cheap and not widely in stock.
Cast bullets from the top suppliers are also not easily found or in stock.
If you like the 32 for some reason you will find where to get the ammo or the components for reloading.

I reload and shoot a .32 3 in. hand ejector and a 32-20 S&W hand ejector and a 32 mag Ruger single six. SO.....The 32 is alive and doing well here.

As long as there are fine old revolvers chambered in .32 S&W Long it will be alive. As for the 32 Magnum, IMO I really never caught on big. The fact the .32 Federal Magnum is around didn't seem to help much but again, IMO that's because they released it as a SD handgun. If they released it in a Carbine for varmint control it would have been accepted better. A levergun .32 Federal Magnum would be great IMO but it's not available.
The .32 S&W Long is here to stay but I'm not sure the .32 Magnum will.

I hope a couple major gun mags write articles on how useless the 32's are. It might cause people to sell the ones that they have just laying around and flood the market. Allowing me to pick up a few bargains. 32 Long is the first cartridge that I reloaded back around 1974 and I still have a soft spot for the round. As I get older and find my hands don't function like they used to I find the 32 long easier to load into a revolver than 22 LR and less recoil than a 38 Special. As I mostly shoot the 3Ps, paper, pests and pop cans, the 32's, in all configuration from 32 short to 32-20 suit me fine.
Now let's talk about the 25 ACP, I don't think a new firearms has been made for that cartridge in this century!

Henry offers a very nice 327 Federal lever carbine which can shoot 32 h&r magnum as well.
32 Federal is the best snub revolver cartridge for carry IMO.
I carry 327 Federal in my LCR.
For my 431pd I carry 32 h&r. Makes a very nice light weight combo.
I made the above caliber choices before the ammo shortage and stocked up .
I also have plenty of 32 long which I use mostly for practice.

Same for me. Have 2" and 3" 31-1 revolvers plus a 432PD for EDC. They suit me just fine. I'm not a reloader but have had success finding ammo when needed with some searching.

Love my .32 S&W Long/H&R magnum. Granddaughter has been training with my .22lr Model 63 and the .32 (431PD) is next on the list for her.

I have a .32 Colt auto and a 32-20 S&W revolver and I like both of them but as long as I can handle a .357M and a Colt .45 auto The .32s will stay under the porch.

Another consideration is the 327 Federal Magnum revolver ...
maybe you don't reload and don't need to shoot 327 Magnum at targets and tin cans ... if so the you have the 32 Long that can be utilized ...
Maybe you need / want something in between ... then you can shoot 32 H&R magnum in it ... Options are great !!!
Think of it like this ... should we get rid of the 22 Short and the 22 Long just because the 22 Long Rifle is more powerful than both ...
... I don't Think So ! Remember ... Variety is the spice of life !

Personally, I have 3 S&W .32 SWL revolvers, 1 S&W .32 H&R Mag revolver, and 1 Ruger .327 Fed Mag... Plus, a Beretta .32 ACP...
I'm just getting started in loading for them now...own 2, but it sure seems like most people have never heard of them
