Check your pot shelves

I got Mom's old Tupperware and Corelle dishes. Probably no gold mine for me.

Although I do treasure my Grandmother's old colorful spun aluminum pitcher and glasses. Anyone remember them from the 60's?

Drank a lot of Kool-aid out of them.

Yep, we had them all:

Dad "liberated" these from the mess hall cuz we couldn't break 'em.

Welp, I now have all my pots and pans piled on the center island. I do have some good quality stuff: Calfalon, Tfal, Farberwear, etc but after a hasty, but generous, estimate of the total value of the lot I come up with a disappointing $400.00 or so.

Anyway, it was exciting for a while and now I get to clean all those shelves and put all those pots and pans back where they were.

That's them! I recall how those aluminum glasses would sweat when full of iced kool-aid! I forgot about the jelly jar glasses, and the ones that came in a box of laundry detergent. Got some of them here somewhere.

My wife's family left her a Guardian Service aluminum "breakfast cooker" we use from time to time. Those darn things were expensive in the 40's & 50's!

Nowhere near a Chinese vase tho...........

My mom and dad were at an auction in KY a few years ago. Before the auction they were allowed to walk by the boxes of stuff, but not touch them.

She saw a little shelf in one box and was the winning bidder for one dollar. After they got it home she found a flawless Royal Copenhagen Vase in the bottom of the box. I looked it up and found one for $2,250. Only difference is hers is blue.

Put it on a few site for sale, but never got any offers.

If Putin dropped a missile on my house, when they sift the ashes they'll find the Pfalzgraf dishes and Griswold skillets.

Mom gave me her old Jadite mixing bowl when I left home. I still have it. I guess there are people who collect those things.

I have piles of most probably worth not much stuff from generations past on both sides... every once in a while I head down the rabbit hole looking for the big inheritance jackpot... nothing much so far.. but just like the little boy in a room full of horse dung, I dig occasionally looking for the pony...
